VP, Relationship Manager - Western Canada - TD Asset Management

In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada’s largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts. **Position Summary:** Manage client relationships and develop new business, with a focus on Western Canada. Interact with key stakeholders including existing clients, prospects and consultants and ensure strong visibility within the covered markets. The Relationship Management Team is involved in various areas of TD Global Investments Solutions (TDGIS) operations, including, but not limited to: + A strategic partner for the Client service function, serving as the main point of contact with our clients, ensuring that we are fully engaged with the client and their “journey” + Build strategic relationships with prospects in the institutional marketplace. Positioning TDGIS as a value-add partner through solutions and strategies + Build relationships with field Consultants + Ensure strong presence and visibility in the industry in our markets through involvement and participation in industry event and associations + A strategic partner for the Client Portfolio Manager function + A strategic partner with Communications for the promotion of TDGIS + Collaborate with Consultant Relations. Business Development, Market Intelligence, Sales Enablement, and Portfolio Management partners + Maintain an in depth knowledge of all of TDGIS investment strategies **Core Competencies:** 1. Manage and deepen existing client and consultant relationships_** + Maintain and grow the relationship with current clients. + Regularly review and analyze client accounts and discuss with broader distribution team. + Meet regularly with clients to provide updates on respective mandates, industry hot topics, policy and investment benchmarking, and new regulatory changes to the investment industry. Act as a trusted advisor to develop strong enduring relationships. + Coordinate with the broader TD Wealth team to provide additional services to clients. + In collaboration with Consultant Relations team, ensure that TDGIS has all available knowledge pertaining to the consultant and all aspects associated with the firm, including knowledge of the client base, personnel, focus of business, other business lines. **_2. Develop New Business_** + Develop and maintain an active prospect pipeline for business development. + Leverage existing/prior relationships with target prospects, industry contacts and partner with other areas of the broader TDGIS organization to develop sales opportunities. + Keep abreast of industry news and events and create a value proposition for prospects. + Gain competitive intelligence and share with broader organization. + Sell prospects on TDGIS capabilities in respective asset classes, as well as building our brand as a solutions based provider. + Meet with prospects over the phone and in person to present our capabilities in a professional manner, using approved presentations and marketing literature. + Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including organizing the resources to research and write answers to the questions and meet all RFP response requirements and target timeframes. Involve internal resources as necessary to move the sale forward. **_3. Demonstrate industry knowledge and professionalism_** + Seek opportunities to serve on organizational committees and lead working sessions. + Organize client roundtables and panel discussions. + Represent TDGIS at conferences and other events, ensuring that we have the appropriate people at the event. + Provide feedback and insight into the relevant industry events and conferences and the validity of participation. + Seek speaking/presentation opportunities for TDGIS Qualifications **Knowledge & Experience:** • At least 10 years experience in an investment, client service or business development role. • Established industry contacts • Knowledge of Western Canada marketplace, including key factors that drive sales cycle. • Knowledge of the institutional marketplace, including pension, insurance, endowment & foundation, sub-advisory and understanding all aspects of the investors • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation • Solid performance in team atmosphere • Ability to act independently and make decisions with minimal supervision • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Strong attention to detail and follow through **Unique Requirements:** This job requires provincial registration (e.g., Advising Rep, Client Relationship Manager Advising Rep, Exempt Market Dealer).
