VP, Residential MDU Sales

JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President, Residential MDU Sales is the primary owner of Charter’s overall multi-dwelling unit (MDU) channel, including the go-to-market strategy for addressing market share in the MDU space. The VP, Residential MDU Sales will develop and execute strategies to capture MDU market share, grow product penetrations in existing properties, and identify and capture new business opportunities via footprint expansion in Charter’s local markets. This role will interface strongly with Charter’s local markets to ensure appropriate negotiation of local and national contracts, access agreements, and marketing agreements. This role will interface directly with marketing and product teams to ensure a holistic strategy for addressing the end-user in the MDU marketplace as well as the property owner and/or leasing agent. This role also has core responsibility for improving Charter’s MDU channel cost position and overall operating model.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Demonstrate excellence in all aspects of MDU management- strategic, bold leader; understands the drivers of performance excellence at all levels.Create an environment that stimulates an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated organization focused on continuous improvement to support MDU sales and strategy team; instills and maintains a high energy culture at every level of the organization.Understand and implement key metrics for all MDU sales disciplines, including: revenue contribution, PSU (Primary Service Unit) sustainability and growth, ARPC (Average Revenue per Customer) management, and customer relationship growth.Demonstrate excellence in MDU leadership including but not limited to: consistent goal and metric achievement for both efficiency and effectiveness areas and consistent service level.Consistently drive the organization to meet/exceed sales and revenue targets for MDU.Provide financial modeling and analysis with interdepartmental leaders to forecast monthly financials.Accountable for MDU sales budget, Revenue and PSUs.Develop, socialize, champion and execute overall MDU company strategy.Create strategy and plans that enable growth in Charter’s market share in existing MDUs.Coordinate with marketing to ensure dynamic media plan, offer strategy to support revenue goals for MDU channel.Identify and oversee system, corporate and cross-departmental tools, processes, and MDU workforce needs to push the MDU strategy forward resulting in improved customer experience, internal efficiencies, team member performance and revenue leakage mitigation.Coordinate with product teams to ensure appropriate and compelling product offers and positioning for the MDU owner/developer and end user.Develop and execute strong revenue and PSU plan for the MDU channel - both developer and end-user.Deliver weekly/monthly monitoring and reporting of initiatives to drive strategic performance improvement.Evaluate and present findings in a manner that will facilitate management's understanding of the results and drive results.Develop and/or coordinate appropriate metrics and corresponding analysis to drive the business forward.Assess new business opportunities, interface with M&A team, Legal team accordingly.Participate in industry conferences including panel representation of Charter in MDU forums.Manage team of MDU sales professionals; select, train, and monitor/improve the performance of team members.Negotiate on Charter’s behalf in the MDU owner/developer space, securing sound access agreements and other marketing agreements to serve properties in our footprint.Interface directly with finance and marketing teams to plan for sales associated with channel mix changes and channel strategy overall.Ensure assigned MDU accounts receive professional account management yielding both improved revenue growth and retention for the company and continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.Develop relationships with key individuals at the C-level among client base and local business community.Supervise creation, refinement and implementation of account strategies and tactics.Create and maintain a dynamic territory management plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishStrong negotiation and consultative skills at senior levels.Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, written, communication and presentation skills.Demonstrated track record of an achieving team plan/team quota.Data analysis and PC skills required; experience with MS Office products required.Ability to anticipate and identify problems and analyze strategic issuesDemonstrate ability to influence decisions in areas outside of direct control through collaboration and teamwork.Highly developed ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities in a fast-paced competitive market environment.Must operate under the highest degree of accuracy, business ethics, and integrity.Strong leadership and coaching skill set.

Required Education

BA/BS Degree in Business, Finance and/or Marketing strongly preferred.

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Sales experience in telecommunications or related industry - 10+

Management experience in a sales discipline or alternative distribution channel - 7+
