This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, CA and is responsible for leading the development of sales skills training among the Behr reps. In this role, the VP will provide innovative thought leadership and direction to develop, support and enhance strategic sales training and effective coaching.
The VP will support a collaborative environment to develop our talent, enhance our culture, optimize sales team effectiveness, and create an environment of continuous improvement. Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum, evaluation for all sales training programs and trainers, and identification of gaps and challenges within our sales development program, along with strategies to enhance performance. This role leads and influences at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of the business to ensure our corporate objectives are met.
Position responsibilities include:
Continuously develop knowledge and skills to uphold and articulate the organizational strategy and principles of our company.Responsible for sales team development, communication and execution of regional and national strategies that align with Long Range Plans (LRP), Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and Strategic Deployment Plans (SDP).Lead, monitor, guide, and coach people leaders/ sales team to achieve business targets, implement change, improve selling skills (strategic and tactical) and build sustainable customer relationships.Lead the development of training functions for the sales organization.Analyze and evaluate business health with the objective to attain optimal growth & development; tracks progress against targets to improve (TTI) activities for annual SDP. Redirect team to close gaps utilizing continuous improvement processes.Oversee and lead the implementation of sales training, sales/on-boarding and education programs that support management development and employee involvement initiatives, as well as efforts to support business change initiatives that benefit employee motivation, morale, retention, and workplace efficiency.Support team members to maintain open level of communication with all employees.Conduct needs assessments, focus groups, interviews, and meetings to assess training needs, concerns, and communicates training information.Provide feedback and coaching to teams, management, and facilitators on training progress and development.Provides visible leadership to enhance organizational culture, vision, and values.Coordinates and organize training plan in accordance with the budget to include outlining monthly & annual training plans and ordering all necessary materials for planned trainingActively participate, lead, advise, or serve on committees, meetings, and cross functional teams (i.e., planning, marketing, finance, continuous improvement events, operations, policy making)Facilitate meetings and workshops and deliver effective presentations at an executive level. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization.Convey the Company’s quality vision to team members and customers and support their participation in the Company’s quality improvement effort.Position / Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will need to have the following:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related work experience equivalent.MBA in Organization Development, or related field is preferredWork Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of successful sales experience with at least 5 years of sales leadership experience in the Home Improvement Industry.Experienced in coaching, content development, training, and deployment.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
