The VP of Sales Engineering is responsible for leading a team of sales engineers to drive technical sales strategy, customer engagement, and solution design to support revenue growth. This role partners closely with our sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and the company’s technology capabilities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, and a hands-on leader with a strong background in technical pre-sales and solution architecture.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

Lead and develop a high-performing sales engineering team across APAC, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development. Define and execute the sales engineering strategy to support business growth and customer success. Collaborate with sales leadership to drive go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment with product and business objectives. Establish and refine best practices for technical sales engagements, including discovery, solution design, and proof-of-concept delivery. Engage with key customers and prospects to understand their technical requirements and business objectives. Provide expert guidance on solution architecture, integration, and implementation. Support sales teams by delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements. Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring seamless alignment between their needs and the company's solutions. Work closely with product management and R&D to provide feedback on market needs and contribute to product roadmap decisions. Partner with marketing teams to develop technical content, including whitepapers, case studies, and webinars. Collaborate with customer success teams to ensure smooth transitions from pre-sales to implementation and ongoing customer support. Develop scalable processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the sales engineering function. Track and analyze sales engineering performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to continuously refine the team’s approach.

 

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

Experience in the technology landscape (e.g., CPaaS, SaaS, telecommunications, etc.). Familiarity with AI, automation, and emerging digital transformation trends. Proven track record of contributing to revenue growth through technical pre-sales efforts. Experience in setting regional priorities and executing strategies that align with global objectives.  Exceptional leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to inspire and drive performance in both direct and indirect teams.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organisational levels and with external partners.
