VP, Truck Service Maintenance

The Sr Manager, Truck Service Maintenance will lead the maintenance and repair operations of our Truck Service business, where we provide maintenance/repair solutions to heavy duty fleets. This role ensures that all vehicles are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, while also leading a team of technical experts and collaborating with other departments to support overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fleet maintenance, repair operations, and a proven track record in leading maintenance initiatives to drive business results. **Duties and Responsibilities** + Lead and manage the truck service department, including hiring, training, and evaluating assigned staff. + Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure high standards of service and safety. + Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. + Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations to include the Retread Center. + Develop and manage a per unit ROI for the retread plant to include a scalable model to meet internal and external demand. + Ensure Retread Plant operations maintain passing scores based on Goodyear metrics. + Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising safety or quality. + Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for parts, equipment, and services. + Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term maintenance strategies aligned with company goals. + Evaluate and implement new technologies and practices to enhance maintenance operations. + Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance and initiatives to executive leadership. + Identity and implement best practices and cutting-edge technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance programs, ensuring fleet readiness and performance. + Work cross-functionally with the operations, IT, procurement, and HR teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and processes within the organization. + Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and equipment manufacturers. Implement modern solutions aligned with company goals. + Utilize fleet management data to create actionable insights, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and improve operational outcomes. + Lead change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new maintenance processes across the organization. + Ensure that all fleet operations (MM & ERA trucks) comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. + Ensure bp’s safety, risk, and compliance culture and expectations are met. Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role and support the Believe in Zero safety philosophy. + Design & facilitate physical assets, tooling, and repair procedures for optimal technician productivity. + Manage the total cost of ownership for all truck service vehicles to meet or exceed company goals. + Manage Truck Service capital to include paying invoices and delivering tools and equipment as approved. + Define and maintain Truck Service repair scope-of-services. + Develop and manage a team to serve as the internal & external technical experts of Truck Service to expedite repairs and serve as our technical SMEs to the marketplace. + Develop and maintain relevant technical literature to be readily available to technicians and shop managers. + Work with the training department to develop training solutions and perform train-the-trainer sessions. + Analyze internal warranty data and develop effective solutions. + Manage the Technical Assistance Center to evaluate and resolve technical quality issues and troubleshoot complex repairs. + Ensure Truck Service stays current on federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain compliance. + Work with Marketing to deliver external technical expertise such as the radio show and truck shows. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
