We are currently seeking a VP to join our team in Rochester, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

The Global IT Sustainability Center of Expertise leader is a key leadership role responsible for driving sustainable practices within the NTT DATA, Inc. Global IT organization's enterprise technology, IT operations, and digital infrastructure. This position combines technical expertise with environmental stewardship to create innovative solutions that reduce the company's carbon footprint and promote sustainable technology use.

Global IT Sustainability Center of Expertise Leader requires a unique blend of technical expertise, environmental knowledge, and leadership skills to drive sustainable practices within an organization's IT operations. This role will be crucial in aligning the organization's technological practices with NTT DATA’s planet, people, and prosperity goals, driving innovation for go-to-market Sustainable IT Solutions and Services, and positioning NTT DATA, Inc. as a leader in Sustainable IT operations.

Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Implementation

· Develop and execute a comprehensive IT sustainability strategy aligned with the organization's overall environmental goals

· Create roadmaps and set performance targets for reducing energy consumption, e-waste, and carbon emissions related to IT operations

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into IT procurement, infrastructure management, and IT Architecture, and software development processes

Leadership and Team Management

· Lead and inspire a team of IT sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and environmental responsibility

· Provide clear direction and facilitate sustainability projects, overseeing employee performance and goal achievement

· Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's skills in sustainable IT practices

· Commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency in sustainability efforts

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

· Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote IT sustainability initiatives and build strategic partnerships

· Represent the organization at industry forums and conferences, driving thought leadership in sustainable IT practices

· Communicate complex sustainability concepts and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

· Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT sustainability initiatives and track progress towards goals

· Analyze data and provide insights to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement

· Prepare regular reports on IT sustainability performance for senior leadership and external stakeholders

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

· Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in sustainable IT

· Identify and evaluate opportunities for carbon abatement and energy efficiency in IT operations

· Drive the adoption of green technologies and practices across the organization's digital infrastructure

Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience in Global IT leadership roles

· 3+ years of experience with a focus on sustainability or environmental initiatives

· Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and software development lifecycles

· Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

· Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability initiatives.

· Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights.

· Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

· Proven ability to drive change and innovation in complex organizational settings

· Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB,GHG Protocol, TCFD, CDP)

· Familiarity with sustainability certifications and standards (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001

 

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field

• Master's degree in Sustainability, Business Administration, or a relevant technical field is preferred
