Vice President Brandywine Reinsurance Collections and Disputes
Chubb invites applicants for the position of Vice President, Reinsurance Collection and Disputes for its Brandywine Division. Brandywine is the group within Chubb responsible for the majority of Chubb’s legacy property/casualty run-off business. Based in Philadelphia and reporting directly to Brandywine’s Senior Vice President, Reinsurance, the successful applicant will assume management responsibility for all of Brandywine’s ceded reinsurance collections, including managing complex claims in formal dispute proceedings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Devising strategy for, and supervising, a team that handles all aspects of collecting and dispute resolution for ceded reinsurance on book of predominantly long-tail claims Managing significant litigation and arbitration matters, including coordinating with and directing inside and outside counsel Cooperating closely with the broader Brandywine reinsurance management team, including the leaders of the ceded billing, accounting and assumed groups Analyzing contract language and drafting persuasive collections correspondence Negotiating commercial resolution of disputed claims where appropriate Monitoring outstanding balances and reporting trends and developments to senior management on a monthly and/or quarterly basis as requested Coordinating with Brandywine’s assumed team for credit control purposes Managing, coaching, and providing technical guidance to a team of claim professionals Actively engaging with brokers, current and prospective arbitrators, outside counsel, and reinsurance professionals at Chubb’s reinsurers Travel to meetings with Chubb’s reinsurers, industry events, hearings, and trials is expectedQualifications
A four-year college degree; law degree preferred At least 10 years relevant insurance/reinsurance industry experience Experience with complex long-tail claims Experience with complex litigation/arbitration Strong analytical, oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standardsEmployer Description
