PURPOSE
The Vice President, Commercial Strategy will be the strategic advisor and expert responsible for overseeing the development and execution of sales strategies that support profitable revenue growth for the Dermatological Beauty Division. Currently competing within the skincare & haircare categories with plans to extend into additional segments and categories through innovation or acquisition, this role will lead the internal commercial team for assigned businesses including customer strategy and operations, category development, Customer Marketing & Revenue Growth Management. The VP, Commercial Strategy will guide the team to incorporate brand objectives, strategies, shopper and category insights and customer requirements that integrate, align, and achieve retailer and Dermatological Beauty Division goals to drive sales growth. Through their direct reports, the VP, Commercial Strategy will own the customer business planning process aligning annual LDB brand goals with in-market customized retailer strategies. The VP, Commercial Strategy will also serve as a leadership liaison between all internal cross-functional partners to ensure communication, alignment, and execution of the sales strategies while removing barriers to success and mitigating business plan risk. Additionally, this role requires excellent leadership and motivational skills with a strong focus on people development. The incumbent must be able to drive results through the management of both direct and indirect resources related to sales, marketing, ecommerce, finance, supply chain, operations, external agency partners and other internal Loreal CPD or LDB functions in order to maximize sales volume and achieve profit objectives.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Leads and coordinates the efforts of the Trade Marketing, Category Development, Customer Marketing and RGM teams and champions the needs of each business unit with all key internal and external stakeholders
+ Oversees the strategic development of the annual national customer and category trade plans for the US marketplace, focusing on LDB brand business goals and customer requirements while leveraging all data sources including consumer/shopper insights and syndicated data to deliver LDB’s annual business plan objectives
+ Leads the annual customer business planning process from end-to-end ensuring alignment to LDB company, brand and category omnichannel strategies with timely execution of high-quality deliverables, aligned to retailer timelines
+ Supports the teams by proactively championing and influencing key trade initiatives such as: omnichannel 4P development (promotional, placement, product/ assortment, pricing), trade activation needs, category leadership guidelines, brand leadership stories, test n learns and responses to competitive intelligence
+ With marketing leadership, oversees and approves new item omnichannel launch strategies and sales communications, including in-store and online launch distribution goals, promotional strategies and tactics, shelving objectives, shopper strategies and tactics, pricing objectives, launch materials, presenting new items to the sales organization and retailers
+ As the internal leadership voice of field sales, supports the company S&OP forecasting process by aligning to YTG projected gains/shortfalls and supporting the development of plans to mitigate annual business plan risk
+ Oversees the strategic pricing for new and existing products and ensures consistent in-market (both in-store and online) adherence to stated brand pricing, promotion and MAP policies as communicated and aligned to with the trade
+ Partners with internal and field sales leaders to identify and support either retailer-specific or national strategic LDB brand/category/shopper/consumer opportunities and/or to orchestrate solution strategies to drive brand sales and profitable growth
+ Collaborates with internal resources on all trade communication that supports LDB or Loreal CPD brand/portfolio/category strategies and ensures alignment with customer requirements
+ Provides accurate and timely crucial market, trade and competitive information to management
+ Serves as key member of the Sales Leadership team and works closely with colleagues to create an inclusive team culture dedicated to achieving annual business goals via executional excellence and high quality output
+ Recruits, manages, and motivates a team of direct reports to meet business objectives. Develops and trains the team, providing coaching and feedback to build members’ strengths and address developmental areas and ensures company strategies, policies and sales tactics are understood and implemented

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelors Degree
+ 15-20 years experience in sales management in the consumer products industry. Experience to include both internal and account management experience
