VP Development & Construction - Critical Facilities Dallas, TX

We are looking for a VP of Critical Facilities Development & Construction to lead data center construction and development projects. The VP will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including budget management, scheduling, and quality assurance, ensuring projects align with company standards and objectives. This role requires providing strategic leadership to contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Assignments will primarily be regional, with a focus on ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting scope and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing both the strategic and administrative aspects of development and construction, including budgets, contracts, change orders, and other essential documentation.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of data center development and construction projects up to the point of Core and Shell Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targetsCreate and manage project schedules, addressing critical path conflicts as neededDevelop and issue RFPs for project bids, evaluate bidder qualifications, and negotiate contracts.Supervise consultant and contractor activities throughout all project phasesMonitor job cost tracking systems to ensure compliance with budgets and schedules; process invoices and support cost reportingRegularly report on project status and key milestones to senior leadershipEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including permits and safety requirements.Participate in due diligence processes for potential developments and acquisitions.Drive zoning and rezoning efforts, understand permit process, collaborate with legal and engineering teamsImplement sustainability and efficiency initiatives or other energy efficiency programsContribute to ongoing process improvements and workflow optimization within the departmentBelong and attend professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24 Exchange, PTC, Datacenter Dynamics / DCD, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow, etc.Qualifications:
8-10+ years of experience in construction management, with a focus on complex commercial, data center, or mixed-use critical facilities projects from inception to completionStrong experience managing project budgets, schedules, and contractsFamiliarity with design, development, and construction principles specific to mission-critical data center facilities – Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) FocusedProficient in drafting agreements and reviewing contractsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with design software is a plusAnalytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.Submittal Instructions:
