The VP Engineering Marketing Platforms is a technical role that helps Mastercard define and advance our technical strategy across Marketing Technology platforms, Marketing Data Platform and our use of AI. As a member of the Marketing Technology Solutions leadership team, this position helps architect, deliver and lead the technical efforts to modernize our end-to-end Marketing Technology stack in support of creating an exceptional global brand experience. The Role: • Work across Marketing Technology Solutions org to architect and deliver an end-to-end architecture for our entire Marketing Tech stack • Drive the architectural design, vendor evaluation, and ensure all Marketing Technology Solutions are compliant with Mastercard standards • Help identify opportunities for MarTech rationalization and simplification • Drive the architecture and design for the Marketing Platform inclusive of the integrations, data architecture and strategy, customer segmentation solutions, governance & compliance, ID resolution and ability to leverage AI and Machine Learning • Inform our AI technology strategy for the marketing organization • Consult across teams and across program lines to identify synergies and reuse opportunities • Mentor and coach the Marketing Technology Solutions engineering organization to level up talent at all engineering levels • Drive the architecture and design for Marketing Technology Solutions cloud strategy • Partner with the VP of Product to drive technology innovation across the Marketing Technology Solutions program • Assist people managers in the talent management process in hiring strong engineering talent and in performance calibrations • Engage in the MarTech industry technical community and be seen as a thought leader representing Mastercard • Identifies opportunities to improve overall quality of our applications and the infrastructure they are deployed on • Partners closely with BizOps organization to seek opportunities to improve performance and stability metrics • Identifies opportunities to improve engineering velocity • Actively participate in the Engineering Guild All About You: • Engineering experience that demonstrates thought-leadership and cross-functional influence and partnership demonstrated by a successful track record of enabling business through engineering delivery and technical innovation and excellence. • Experience with architecting Marketing Technology platforms (e.g., Adobe, Salesforce, Ad Platforms) for a major global brand • Experienced in leading the initiation and formation of large global projects including architecting, estimating, planning, implementing and operating as well as selecting talent resources across multiple geographies and functions. • Has experience with Data Bricks or Snowflake, Data Lakes, orchestration and visualization of data • Experience with building data pipelines integrated with SaaS marketing and ad platforms. (e.g. Adobe Analytics, LinkedIn APIs, DSPs, etc.) • Has experience in leading and coaching teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs. • Has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set right development capacity based on value drivers (e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt). • Performance engineering experience to ensure applications are built to scale, run, and perform for varying demands. • Has skills to perform architecture and cost analysis for internal, hybrid, and public cloud environments. \#AI3 Mastercard is an inclusive equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
