Job Description


Owner of the Service Logistics (SL) Digitalization agenda, including:New products & market innovations which help retain & win new business, grow market shareBusiness Solutions, including business ownership of SL’s global IT platform SeLECT (SeLECT is live for 80+ SL customers, handling 24 million order lines per year). This includes leadership of the Continuous Delivery Model (CDM) and Project Delivery Board (PDB) that drive and govern SeLECT releases within budget (4.5M Euro, 2023))Analytics, including defining and executing an analytics vision to support customers & SL


Deliver innovation to ensure market competitiveness & profitable growth for Service Logistics (SL), which:Achieves >Eur 1b revenue in 2023 Generates additional revenue for other Divisions (Express, DGF) between EUR 100-200mProvides network solutions integrating warehousing, transport and 24x7x365 command centersDelivers these solutions across >1000 sites, >140 countries and >400 partners (including DSC Countries, Express, DGF, third parties)Works cross Sector including Technology, Life Sciences and Engineering & Manufacturing


Management of the global Center of Excellence function and organization (9 people + support teams in Regions + Sites), including process excellence, delivery of the innovations & alignment with other DSC COE’s


Strategic Solution Ownership

Define and articulate the Service Logistics global product strategy, ensure all efforts are aligned with SL strategic objectivesDirect the business solutions agenda, with product ownership of the SL global IT platform (SeLECT), to meet the needs of internal and external customers globally and in region (80+ customers)Drive the CDM agenda and deliver changes within budget (4.5m EURO, 2023)Design and develop new SL products, drive the innovation and continuous improvement agenda across the global SL organization, providing a key enabler to deliver on the ambitious growth agenda of SLManage the Service Logistics seed fund to foster the rapid testing of innovation solutions within SLDrive the Reporting and Analysis (Business Intelligence) agenda, develop the global SL analytics vision and deliver analytics solutions to internal business partners and external customers


Leadership

Sponsor strategic Service Logistics projects and programs Establish and foster Service Logistics as a thought leader in the market through strategic customer engagements/sponsorships, speaking engagements and publicationsLead and manage the performance of the global Service Logistics CoE team. Manage the associated annual CoE budget (EURO 1.4m, 2023)Recruit additional team resources as needed and support their career development and progressionTrack and report on the performance of the Service Logistics COE team, and the impact of its initiatives

Process

Deliver a best in class operational capability by continually improving and standardizing our core processes and systems across customersDeliver business solutions to our internal and external customers with the objective to provide a consistent network with a competitive cost base serving as a springboard for growthDeliver the toolkits required to successfully implement these products in Service Logistics (Training, knowledge transfer, change management, sales toolkit)


Required Education & Experience


Bachelors Degree, requiredMinimum of 15 years working experience in an international logistics environment in business and IT rolesMinimum of 10 years working experience of delivering complex projects and programsMinimum of 10 years working experience in working with consultancy and software companiesMinimum 5 years experience required in a management role in IT or in OperationsStrong Finance knowledge required in terms of team budget management, submission of BCAs and program budget managementExperience in management roles in at least 2 regionsExperience in leading projects and programmes in all regions10-15 years experience required within a Supply Chain division5-10 years experience within the Express division is an asset5-10 years experience within the Forwarding/Freight division is an asset
