VP Group Planning & Analytics Internal Reporting

The role sits in the critical juncture between Internal Reporting and CFO Business Partnering, supporting the Head of Group Performance reporting as well as the Head of Group Financial Planning and Analysis. This is a vital role supporting the Barclays Group delivering its strategy and financial targets, through the provision of high quality, insightful reporting, and analysis on the financial performance of Barclays Group and its businesses. This includes delivery materials to CFO meetings, Barclays Group ExCo and Barclays Group Board.

You will be developing and delivering reporting on the Group and segmental performance to the Group Board, ExCo and CFO meetings. Succinctly present commercial narrative for the Group and the businesses at the right level for senior stakeholders. Supporting the Head of Group Performance Reporting, Head of FP&A and ultimately the Head of Strategic Reporting and Group CFO by producing analytics and management reports for key meetings e.g. Group ExCo off sites, addressing ah-hoc queries and building scenario analytics. You will be developing an in-depth knowledge of the organisation’s strategic direction and external financial targets.

The ideal candidate will have a professional accountancy qualification, strong analytical skills with attention to detail and good understanding of financial accounting. You will also have a solid understanding of performance reporting. The successful candidate will be proactive and self-motivated with communication, influencing and negotiating skills at all levels within the organisation.

Purpose of the role

To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.  

Accountabilities

Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.  .Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders.Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
