**GENERAL SUMMARY** **:**
The Vice President, Operations, AHMG and Institute works in partnership with physician and health system leaders to deliver growth and high-quality, high-value patient care. Using an integrated approach, the VP is responsible for the strategic direction of the AdventHealth Medical Group CFD providers of designated service lines as well as the medical and surgical programs within a specified Institute. The primary responsibility for the Medical Group is to ensure that excellent daily operations of each practice are present. Operational responsibilities include leading and directing the operational aspects of all physician practices within their scope of responsibility.
The primary responsibility for the Institute is the development of strategies and standards of care across the service line, physician practices and outpatient programs to fully integrate care and drive a value-based model. This may include oversight and/or leadership of program administrators, provider teams and ancillary support teams as needed to effectively drive performance across the care continuum. Advises/manages all service areas that impact patient care for the patient population and provides leadership and subject matter expertise for the service line resulting in high quality outcomes and effective performance. Plans, directs, coordinates and serves as the administrative liaison for service line activities, projects and programs including marketing and philanthropy and any other activities and specialty in nature.
Works closely with the medical leadership regarding patient services including delivery of services, state of relevant technology and equipment, revenue generation, reimbursement changes, budget and all other related administrative matters. Evaluates patient care, operational efficiencies, performance methods and employee issues and makes recommendations. Uses leadership and personal influence to align and motivate staff and physicians’ energy towards goal achievement. Works collaboratively across the organization to champion creative and progressive goals. Participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
**MEDICAL GROUP PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**
· Monitor compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
· Monitor facility policies and procedures and makes recommendations for development and revisions.
· Establish and implement major goals, and objectives for each practice and market.
· Oversees practice budgets, billing, accounts payable and fixed asset management.
· Manage satisfaction programs for patients and employees.
· Provides input and support to specialty committees and leadership to ensure effective governance and positive, engaged physician relationships.
· Acts as a liaison to Service Lines and external affiliates to maintain sound business relations with hospital business partners and influencers.
· Responsible for all practice operations within designated service lines.
· Oversight and implementation of electronic medical records within practices.
· Participates with hospital leadership to define and implement a physician strategy for each campus.
· Implement contractual and process strategies to “link” specialist physicians with hospital service lines or institutes.
· Develop and monitor processes to ensure all practice startups are managed well.
· Oversee market practice acquisitions.
· Manage practices to budget.
**Medical Group Strategy**
· Responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of a clear physician practice strategy that engages AdventHealth partners and physicians to achieve the results desired.
· Ability to translate clinical/business model thinking into a deliverable executable plan.
**Medical Group Physician Relationships**
· Responsible to engage physicians as leaders and partners in the development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive practice performance.
· Principally responsible for the AHMG physician relationship. This includes ongoing physician feedback on performance, strategy, contracting, mediating difficult issues, and demonstrating integrity through responsive follow-up and engagement.
· Principally responsible for execution and maintenance of employment agreements in a proactive manner.
· Ability to collaborate and engage physicians on a patient centered care model in a deliberate way.
**Medical Group Results**
· Responsible for delivering a track record of high performance in the majority of all elements of performance. This is defined as:
o Timeliness of physician contracts
o Ability to seek engagement, support of physician contracts without requiring the presence of the CEO/CFO
o Ability to meet and exceed budget targets for the practice at a minimum and manage to the top quartile performance for that practice
o Ability to engage employees that results in high performance employee engagement (World class or best practice) and participation rates above 90 percent
o Ability to achieve meaningful use requirements, patient experience greater than 75th percentile
o Ability to ensure practices are compliant with coding, monitoring, risk plan)
o Ability to achieve PQRS requirements for all practices
o Holds team and self-accountable for results
**Communication**
· Ability to communicate effectively and timely to physicians, down line leaders the vision, mission, values and objectives of the organization and how this relates to each member of the team.
· Ability to discern and communicate appropriate information to their peers and the executive team and engage in bringing forth recommendations for positive changes to AHMG overall and within their areas of responsibility.
**Develop Leaders**
· Responsible for the hiring, selection and performance of their down line leadership team.
· Ability to lead and develop leaders and team members capable of demonstrating a common mission and vision that aligns with AdventHealth values.

**INSTITUTE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**
**Set Service Line Strategic Direction & Align to Business Objectives**
· Establish and commit to a long-term business direction after considering clinical and financial data, resources, market drivers, and organizational values; anticipate and respond to shifts within the market, technology, or policy environment that influence the delivery, management, and financing of healthcare.

· Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in programmatic development.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** **:**
· Bachelor's degree, particularly in a healthcare business or clinical science.
· Minimum of ten (10) years of diverse experience in specialty practice operations and/or strategy development/execution relative to service line, with a minimum of three years of experience in program development.
· Minimum of seven (7) years in progressively responsible administrative work or directorship of multiple departments in a hospital or hospital system.
· Extensive experience working closely with physicians and proven ability to gain trust and credibility
· Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills
· Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions
Qualifications
