Job Summary

The Vice President of Research is a critical role within the Optimum organization, responsible for leading and managing all consumer and industry research activities. This position requires a deep understanding of research methodologies, consumer behavior, a passion for innovation, competitive insights, and strong leadership skills. This leader will be transformation oriented with a strong sense of urgency, perseverance and open mindedness to lead and drive change, growth, and profitability, along with incorporating new technologies and innovative approaches to how we conduct and incorporate research. This role will report to the SVP, Marketing.  
 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:  

Responsible for leading a team that creates actionable and succinct insights to drive business strategy for the executive team  Lead multiplatform research including linear, digital, and streaming measurement.  Supporting the Programming, Production, Marketing and Revenue business units by translating key target audiences’ behavior, attitudes, viewership and consumption into tactical insights to drive development of products, product engagement, and subscriptions. Partnering with researchers at linear, digital, and OTT partners to build insights  Lead the development and growth of a mixed methods research team for Optimum providing foundational, evaluative, and summative research insights. Collaborating with cross-functional leaders across multiple business units to define and build durable user experience assessment processes, and engaging with customers and ecosystem stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for innovation.  Develop and implement the organization's overall research strategy, aligning it with the company's mission and goals including brand, competitive, and product.  Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of research projects.  Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize research needs across all company verticals 

Innovation: 

Reimagine new and innovative ways to gather and incorporate insights into our strategic planning  Identify emerging trends and technologies that may impact the organization's research efforts.  Identify AI research opportunities to streamline processes and expedite go-to-market studies and results  Encourage and build a culture of innovation and experimentation. 

Research Execution:  

Ensure the quality and integrity of research projects including Optimum brand, competitive, and product.  Oversee the development of Investor Relations insights  Monitor research progress and provide timely feedback.  Analyze research findings and translate them into actionable insights. 

External Collaboration:  

Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, industry partners, and government agencies.  Represent the organization at industry conferences and events.

Qualifications 10+ year in research management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.  Deep understanding of research methodologies and data analysis techniques.  Experience with emerging and cutting-edge research technology and trends  Strong executive presence and C-suite storytelling  Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Proven ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.  Experience in grant writing and securing research funding   Strong experience with emerging technologies across the Telcom business  Experience in cross-functional collaboration.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $178,500.00 - $255,000.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
