VP of Construction

Reports to President
Base Salary plus 1% of EBITDA
\n\nThis is an Executive position, with a financial incentive to ensure longevity within the company. This person will lead all construction projects and programs working in close collaboration with all LHR departments, ensuring seamless execution of all construction projects from initiation to completion while maintaining or exceeding the EBITDA margin and monthly budget revenue goals.
\n\nWithin the first 30 days this person will need to create an org chart that clearly outlines all revenue streams – Fire Team, Exterior Team, Special Projects, and potentially the Utility Team. The Org chart would identify the individual team members, their roles and the need (if any) additional staff necessary to meet and/or exceed the revenue goals for the calendar year.
\n\nThe primary focus of this position will be on overseeing the planning, execution, and tracking of all construction projects from start to finish. The VP of Construction will focus on manpower placement, strategy, development, and the implementation of programs to streamline and improve workflows. You will be responsible for multiple Project Managers, Superintendents and Project Foremen along with cross-functional teams to ensure program goals and objectives are met, keeping LHR on schedule, on budget, and driving overall growth and success.
\n\nIn addition to these responsibilities, the VP of Construction duties will involve creating a mentor program to ensure growth comes from within. Tracking revenue goals and ensuring the Construction Team is on target to meet the monthly goals.
\n\nWorking with Estimating, a written SOP must be developed for Pre-construction on all projects.
\n\nA strong focus on employee retention is key. This position must do employee reviews in the Associa format twice a year. Help identify additional educational opportunities for employees. Clearly understand the OSHA Safety standard and put all Construction employees through the OSHA 30 program within 12 months of the acceptance of the position.
\n\nA constant ambition to grow and learn ProCore and SAGE Cloud is a must. Communicating the defined project scope, budget, and Board expectations to Project Managers is required. Extensive travel will be required as needed to oversee projects and ensure successful delivery.
\n\nAdherence to company, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards is critical and a key priority in all activities.
\n\nDay to Day Duties
\n\nMonthly budget reviews with Project Managers\nDeveloping a annual Construction Budget that addresses the revenue goals for LHR\nOversee the day-to-day management of assigned projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.\nLead project planning sessions, setting project timelines, defining tasks, and allocating resources.\nWorking with the Project Managers develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and contingency plans for all new projects.\nWorking with the Project Managers monitor and manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.\nEnsure that all project documentation, contracts, and change orders are properly recorded and maintained.\nEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations on all projects, implementing necessary procedures to ensure worker safety.\nTrack project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to ensure successful project completion.\nPerform post-project evaluations and identify areas for future improvement. Communicate this information in writing to the team assigned to the project. \nManage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, resolving conflicts and ensuring clear communication.\nReview the work of subcontractors or vendors to ensure it meets the project’s requirements and LHR's quality standards.\nApprove and manage project budgets, ensuring that all spending aligns with the agreed-upon scope and financial constraints.\nAssist with securing permits and ensuring all projects meet local and state code requirements.\nCollaborate with the Program Manager to align project management goals with overall program objectives.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement in project delivery and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.\nTravel to project sites to oversee execution, inspect work, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.\n\n\n RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
\n\n5 years of restoration/construction industry experience or a combination of relevant education and equivalent industry experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Degree preferred\nAdvanced knowledge of local, state, and federal code requirements as well as the application and determination of code requirements\nKnowledge of Lean principles and process mapping\nExperience leading onboarding and training programs\nAbility to read Xactimate scopes\nAdvanced verbal and written communication skills\n\nSPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

\n\nDevelop and implement department-specific new hire training and onboarding plans\nDevelop, implement and maintain a mentor program within the Construction Team\nIdentify salary increases for employees and ensure that fits into the annual budget\nCreate mass onboarding plans in response to large-scale disaster recovery needs\nConduct training sessions with new employees and offer ongoing process improvement training for project teams\n\n\nQuality Assurance
\n\nWorking with the QAQC Project Manager, conducting quality assurance evaluations on active construction projects, ensuring compliance with SOPs\nSchedule monthly meetings with department heads to discuss and resolve process gaps\nDevelop new SOPs and lead training initiatives within the Construction Teams\nTravel to project sites as required to ensure project and training needs are met\n\n#LI-KK2
