The Global Vice President of Finance leads the finance effort and provides strategic leadership for Essentia Protein Solutions by working as a key member of the company’s executive leadership team to establish strategies and plans for the organization. This individual will be an integral part of the North American and International leadership teams and work closely with all functions across the organization including operations, sales, marketing and R&D to develop a keen understanding the drivers of financial performance as well as to develop plans and strategies around various business opportunities. Drive development of reporting/financial models/analysis tools for use in identifying key issues and to advise the business in making sound decisions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus.
Experience
10 years progressive experience in accounting/finance, with demonstrable record of finance leadership.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience working in an organization operating in international jurisdictions a plus.
JOB DUTIES:
Business Unit "CFO"
The Global VP Finance/Business Unit CFO will provide strong financial leadership and strategic guidance on all matters impacting the organization, including acquisitions, capital investments, pricing strategies, procurement, and enterprise risk management. This role requires a deep understanding of the business landscape, key market drivers, and operational dynamics, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term organizational goals. The Business Unit (BU) CFO will be an active contributor to the development and execution of EPS’s strategic plans globally and operational initiatives as a core member of the global executive leadership team.
The successful candidate will apply sound, data-driven judgment to enhance the business model and support decision-making at the highest levels. They will lead and develop a small, high-performing team of finance professionals to deliver actionable insights and drive financial excellence. Additionally, the BU CFO will play a key role in ensuring alignment and consistency of financial practices and methodologies across North American and International operations.
Management Reporting
Design, prepare, and interpret comprehensive financial performance reports to support the business and enhance understanding of key drivers impacting results. Proactively communicate insights and analysis to help improve decision-making and strengthen the company’s economic model. Deliver timely and accurate reporting on an ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, with a focus on continuous improvement and relevance to business needs. Present financial reviews and performance updates to senior leadership within EPS and LGI, ensuring clarity, and strategic alignment.
Planning/Forecasting
Lead the organization in building and sustaining a robust planning and forecasting environment that supports strategic and operational decision-making. Oversee the development of the annual operating plan and periodic forecasts across all domestic and international operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and effective communication throughout the organization. Conduct in-depth analysis to understand the impact of key performance drivers—such as capacity constraints and cost structures—and evaluate strategic alternatives. Prepare the annual five-year financial forecast to support shareholder valuation, along with annual cash flow projections and quarterly capital expenditure outlooks for use by the treasury team.
Analytics and Decision Support
Lead and perform financial analyses to support sound decision-making across a range of strategic initiatives, including pricing strategies, capital investments, and process improvements. Guide shared services resources where appropriate, ensuring analytical relevance. Continuously improve and expand analytical tools and methodologies to assess and enhance business model performance. Establish robust model validation and back-testing protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability. Apply an asset optimization mindset to capital expenditure decisions, with a focus on maximizing return on investment and long-term value creation.
LGI Finance Leadership Team Key Member
Key member of the LGI finance leadership team. Work with shared services finance to drive improvement in ability of the shared and dedicated finance teams to serve the business. Work closely with shared finance resources to complete key accounting, treasury and tax functions, fixed assets, A/R and A/P, financial/legal entity reporting, tax, etc.
Lead and Develop EPS Global Finance Team
Provide leadership and coaching to members of EPS finance team to ensure team member growth and development. Assess organizational needs to formulate and implement development plans, outlining specific performance measures and targets. Coordinate cross-regional improvement opportunities across all departments.
Other Duties
Responsible for identifying and/or performing steps necessary to obtain economic grants or incentives.
Work with key team members to track progress of significant capital investment projects.
Lead, direct or participate in other projects/committees/teams as needed.
