Position Overview:

As part of the talented Navico Group team, you will lead strategic procurement efforts across Navico Group for all Direct and Indirect procurement spend. Reporting to the Navico Group Divisional President, this position has responsibility for all Sourcing performance across a nearly $400M global spend encompassing all aspects of business, category, and supply base management both globally and locally. The position will spearhead a supply chain transformation to enhance capabilities and drive step-change improvements across the division. This position will build internal capabilities and drive a cultural shift towards strategic sourcing.  Scope includes development and execution of effective sourcing strategies, best value supplier selection, NPI supplier selection and readiness, building strategic capabilities, and delivering on key supply chain objectives including supplier quality, service, working capital improvements and productivity.

This position will establish relationships with internal and external partners across segments, division and functions. The ability to manage complex businesses as well as effectively work in a matrix organization is essential.

This person will be highly action oriented and have deep experience leading supply chain in a manufacturing environment. Driving results and establishing clear metrics is a critical component of the role. The person will lead material and services costs savings, improved supplier quality and working capital betterment.

Essential Functions:

Define Procurement strategy and drive implementation for Navico Group

Develop and drive the procurement vision and long-term strategy to transform existing structure and processes, enhance organizational capabilities, and elevate performanceCreate and implement category sourcing strategies to enable global spend leverage and competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply baseManage purchasing policy, indirect demand management activities, and purchasing compliance processesContribute to the development of the Navico Group’s business strategy and plan by prioritizing Procurement value levers and defining cost management objectives (cost improvement and cost containment)Ability to link supply chain with logistics, finance and operations to present total financial and performance

Drive results and establish metrics

Drive forward implementation of initiatives, set targets and deliver resultsOversight of centralized and decentralized elementsAct as procurement liaison into the planning cycles short term and multi-yearOwn all elements of Direct and Indirect materials productivity, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity servicesDevelop and manage relationships with external suppliers and internal divisionsLead supply contracts including strategy, preparation, negotiations and agreement termsDevelop benchmarks and metrics including a standard scorecard to set baseline standards and review for improvement opportunitiesEstablish industry standards and key benchmarks in procurement trends and processesDraft and submit annual plans and proposals

Lead the Procurement organization

Lead and mentor the Navico Group Supply chain leadership team and oversee the Supply Chain CounselEstablish organizational structure in an evolving operating modelAbility to manage remote teams and optimize rolesCreate cross-site leverage of spend, category management, and best sourcing practicesDevelop and drive Supply Chain talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines for the functionProvide oversight to corporate Indirect purchasing team to set priorities, approve sourcing strategies and provide direction to strategic sourcing initiativesActively work in special projects outside of the purchasing area bringing industry knowledge to projects including contracting standards and customer terms, pricing reviews and other projects as established at the senior management level of the Company

Manage key stakeholders and business representatives

Consult with senior management to determine purchasing needs and specificationsEngage internal stakeholders in order to understand business objectives and desired outcomesServe as primary liaison between Supply Chain and Product Development & Engineering functions coordinating NPI, new components sourcing, and productivity initiativesDrive alignment between procurement and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) practices, processes and key business deliverablesDrive cross-divisional synergies and best practice sharingEnsure policy compliance across the categories

Lead supply base management

Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needsMonitor performance of vendor, service providers, etc. to ensure quality of serviceUnderstand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials and services to ensure Navico Group has the "right" competitive supply solutionsIdentify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the businessImplement, manage and maintain a supplier qualification process as well as a supplier quality standard program

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or business, MBA preferred12-15+ years of leadership experience within supply chain or procurement, to include working across business groups within multi-national organizationsLeadership experience within manufacturing platform in similar industryExperience with oversight of logistics/transportationAbility to define structure and advance organizational capabilityExhibits ability to influence other and adapt to changing prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to project and maintain a professional and positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to lead change; build high performing teams and model high performance standardsExperience in leading sourcing professionals in fragmented spend categories with large overall spend amounts and building capabilities in a decentralized organizational structureExceptional communication skills including listening and facilitation, with the ability to use logic and persuasion, rather than authority, to be effectiveStrategic thinking skills including an ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiativesExecution skills including persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem-solving skillsTechnical skills including strong understanding of the procurement operating model (organization, P2P processes); negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization; and knowledge of effective technology driven-sourcing processesApplication of world-class category management, strategic sourcing, and supply base management strategies and techniques with understanding of total cost of ownership, risk management and savings/benefit monitoringAbility to roll up sleeves and dig into the details, including bid analytics, scenario development, and face-to-face negotiationsPrevious leadership experience in a matrix environment. Experience in managing diverse culturesProficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint - SAP Purchasing experience preferredCPM certification desiredSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred

Working Conditions:

Office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Working hours will vary to support global organizationThe position will require occasional day and/or overnight domestic and international travel by auto or airplane, 20%-30% of the time
