Job Summary:
The VP of Risk Management is responsible for ensuring companywide compliance with all Company safety standards and guidelines. Role includes assessing the risks within all levels of Company operations, updating safety protocols as needed, providing risk assessments, and educating Company’s management to achieve overall company goals and minimize financial loss.

Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all workers compensation, GL, and auto claims, utilizing third party resources to minimize company’s financial exposure and future experienceCoordinate and direct company managers in post-accident handling of all claims, including but not limited to, workers compensation, GL, auto, and EPLIProvide direction, guidance, input, and education on operational risk issues including incidents, complaints, products, policies, and proceduresPro-active and continuous evaluation and improvement of Company’s safety and risk control initiatives, programs, resources, and education materialsUpdate materials and training to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulationsCoordinate investigations and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrencesBuild and maintain relationships at all appropriate levels of management and control functions, (for example, legal and compliance) to share best practices to address common control or risk concerns, increasing the level of management understanding in terms of emerging risks that impact their businessPrepare and provide regular status reports to senior management concerning critical issues and significant concerns pertaining to company risk. Conduct and/or coordinate regularly occurring safety related training at the corporate office or in the field. Identify the need for additional training initiatives or retraining opportunities and confirm training is appropriately updated for compliance with updated laws and regulationsServe as key liaison with third party insurance and safety partnersAssist team members in ongoing conduct of operational risk procedures, processes, initiatives, systems, and reportingEnsure complete and accurate files of all related materialsOther daily, weekly, monthly duties as assignedAssist with support of Operational of other departments as needed
Required Skills and QualificationsPreferred minimum 2-5 years experience in safety and risk managementIndependent, self-motivatedHighly organized, ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlinesAbility to proactively identify risk and analyze metrics and history to correct adverse conditions, improve employee education and mitigate future exposureExcellent written and oral communication skills Working knowledge of OSHA and its requirementsDemonstrated skills in classroom, web-based, or telephonic training for small or large groups of employeesExcellent computer skills and software literacyPreferred Certified Safety Professional with ASSPPosition will require travel, including overnights and weekends, up to 50%#HESCORP
