Overview The Vice President of Sales position is part of the Fairview Pharmacy Solutions senior leadership team and is responsible for driving business growth through the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive sales plan. Key responsibilities include managing the sales team through hiring, training, and performance evaluation to achieve sales targets, as well as ensuring effective account management with clear goal setting and thorough documentation in customer relationship management systems. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership to align strategies, proactive monitoring and reporting of sales results, and detailed analysis of progress toward objectives. The position will be responsible for making adjustments to the sales plan as needed to address evolving business priorities and market conditions, ensuring continued alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities Job Description Leadership of Sales Team Provide ongoing coaching, development, and accountability for sales staff. Collaborate with business leaders to recruit, hire, and manage HR functions for the sales team, including retention and performance management. Ensure prompt follow-up on leads and accountability to results. Develop and evaluate orientation training to ensure strong product knowledge. Promote cross-training, cross-selling, and continuous education to meet sales needs. Offer mentoring and leadership while overseeing staff productivity and efficiency. Work with HR to align compensation plans with performance goals and motivation. Sales Plan Implementation and Oversight Develop, implement, and evaluate sales plans to achieve growth targets, in collaboration with Solutions leadership. Analyze market trends, demographics, and business data to inform sales strategies. Communicate and implement the annual sales plan, aligning with strategic business initiatives and budgetary impact. Set clear goals and expectations to optimize sales resources for maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Coordinate with business leaders to identify new opportunities and adjust current strategies. Monitor P&L and compare results to sales objectives, ensuring plan effectiveness. Assess risks and benefits to create realistic, creative sales strategies. Explore innovative sales approaches and evaluate external events for exposure opportunities. Sales Progress Evaluation and Management Implement and manage CRM systems for tracking sales progress. Oversee preparation and presentation of sales forecasts and long-term plans. Advise business leaders on decisions and market changes affecting the business. Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting of sales progress. Analyze issues and opportunities, collaborating with management to implement improvements. Evaluate market share, customer base, and referral sources. Analyze data from multiple perspectives to support sales strategies. Adjust sales plans based on feedback and changing business dynamics. Present regular sales strategy, contact, and progress reports to the leadership team. Relationship Building and Collaboration Build strong relationships to understand the needs of various stakeholders and audiences. Motivate and coordinate teams, projects, and resources to achieve goals. Actively contribute to the sales team by setting targets, educating on selling techniques, providing training, and ensuring business alignment. Collaborate with the Solutions team to maximize resources and drive results. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in business administration or health care Experience 7+ years of successful sales experience in PBM, healthcare, pharmacy, or pharma. 7+ years of sales management experience. Proven track record of leading and scaling sales teams in the pharmacy, healthcare, or pharma industry. Extensive experience developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth in a competitive market. Expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners. Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management), and healthcare regulations. Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities. Experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and managing P&L responsibilities. Demonstrated success in implementing CRM systems and utilizing data to optimize sales performance. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a sales team to achieve targets. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and product teams to drive business outcomes. Experience in developing and overseeing training programs to improve sales effectiveness and staff development.
