The Vice President, Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness will be responsible for driving talent development and talent management practices within the organization including Organizational Culture initiatives and DEI programs.
They will also have the additional accountability of providing strategic direction and leadership in the execution of a global leadership development model and curriculum across Canadian leadership in conjunction with UK partners.

What you'll do:Framework and strategy for the market’s talent management practices. Identify key business challenges and gaps in order to effectively direct the organization’s talent requirements. Engage in strategic analysis to determine the organization’s key development needs and opportunities, benchmarking across leading companies and providing a framework for assessment. Build close linkages between the talent management framework and structured performance management, development plans and training.
Drive succession planning across the organization.
Contribute to the parent company talent review processes, secondments and leadership development initiatives.
Close talent gaps. Consolidate relevant information in order to provide the company, the Board of Directors and the parent company with an overview of the organization’s management development and succession plan including; development plans are built and implemented for top talent in the organization, and programs, tools, assessments, experiences and action-learning opportunities are implemented in order to meet development needs.
Learning and development strategy. Coordinated long-term learning and development strategy for the market in conjunction with parent company framework that clearly outlines priorities, current proficiencies and gaps, and a structured approach and timeline. The strategy must cover learning in both leadership competencies and core industry skills. As part of this mandate, manage centralized learning spend and recommend ways to migrate from traditional course-based learning to a portfolio of methods including on-the-job learning, stretch assignments and comprehensive and frequent mentorship and feedback.
Improve and evolve the organization to high performance culture. Work with UK leads on a coordinated approach to drive performance and cultural change across Canada.
Global Employee Engagement metrics & survey – Lead & analyze as a key means to determine the overall engagement of employees in order to develop an action plan. Present findings to internal collaborators.
Integrate Organizational change practices (with Advice team and Transformation team) that will continue to transform the organization
Contribute to a high performance human resources leadership team. As a member of the functional leadership team and share accountability for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the human resources function. As a champion for executive talent identification, assessment and development, the selected individual will earn the respect of their peers as the expert and will contribute meaningfully to issues across the business agenda. Overall, this person will have a reputation as an outstanding teammate and expert in their field or subject area.
What you'll bring:University Degree or equivalent experience – Business, Human Resources
Strong technical capabilities in talent management.
Broad knowledge of the principles, strategies and practices of talent management and have experience helping to close key talent gaps at a senior level.
Expertise in training and development. Knowledge of how leaders develop, crafting assessment and development tools and processes. Knowledge of current trends and practices used to improve the review and development process and will have implemented impactful changes in these areas. .
Change leadership credentials.
Strong business discernment
Relationship building skills.
8-10 years progressive leadership roles.
Proven track record in change – Breadth of Human Resources.
Successful implementation of talent strategies across a large, multi-disciplined organization.
