VP - Treasury - ALM - Insights

Join Barclays as VP - Treasury - ALM (Asset Liability Management) - Insights where you'll work closely with Insights COE (Centre of Excellence) in analyzing IRRBB (Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book) risk across all entities, businesses and product types including the modelling and justification of their capital impacts. Your role will also hold the responsibility of delivering ALM Insights Transformation deliverables including relevant and timely analysis on associated risk metrics in unison with other Treasury’s centers of excellence.

To be successful in this role, you should have,

Experience of the risk management activities of Treasury and/or Balance Sheet Management function.

Good understanding of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book with excellent numeric and analytical skills.

Ability to work as part of a team and add value to the development of the ALM function.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, SumIFs and so on) along with presentation and communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of products and services offered by major banks, the inherent risks and how to mitigate them.

Understanding of risk metrics like AER (Annual Equivalent Rate), EVE (Economic Value of Equity) and VaR (Value at Risk) including the impact of hedging strategies, strengths and weaknesses of key assumptions.

Some other highly valued skills may include,

Previous working experience of using SQL (Structured Query Language) and/or QRM (Quality Risk Management).

Understanding of mechanisms for quantifying and hedging direct and indirect non-traded market risks.

Knowledge of key EBA (European Banking Authority) /PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority) and Basel regulations on IRRBB and NTMR (Non-Trading Market Risk).

Additional Certifications like CFA / FRM / PRM

This role is based in our Chennai office.

Purpose of the role

To model, measure and manage the bank’s financial balance sheet to report and optimise its risk profile and profitability by analysing the bank's assets and liabilities and developing strategies to manage interest rate risk on the banking book and other ALM risks.  

Accountabilities

Identification, modelling and measurement of the bank’s interest rate risk including the reporting of risks internally and externally.Development and implementation of strategies to manage the bank's interest rate risk in the banking book, including management of the bank's exposure to changes in interest rates and development of hedging strategies.Management of the bank's banking book balance sheet to optimize the allocation of assets and liabilities, and to ensure that the bank's liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks are appropriately managed within internal and external tolerance.Management of the bank's structural interest rate risk capital position to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to support the bank's growth and profitability objectives.Development and implementation of financial models to analyse the bank's balance sheet and to support decision-making processes related to asset and liability management.Support the development and pricing of customer products to align to the bank’s risk appetite and strategy in relation to IRRBB.Measurement of the capital requirements in relation to the interest rate and credit spread risk on the banking book.
