ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will lead Ascension’s value-based program (VBP) reimbursement strategies, contracted program participation, and financial success across the value-based portfolio. The VP assesses and negotiates contracts and participation agreements for programs rewarding value as a supplement to fee-for-service reimbursement or which directly reimburse for services using alternative payment methods. This leader will work in significant collaboration with a broad set of senior internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate very closely with the Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI) and Ascension’s clinical value-based operations and population health management functions.
This is a remote position with approximately 10%-15% travel expected.
Responsibilities:
Value-Based Program Expertise: Deep knowledge of value-based programs, including cost of care, risk adjustment, bundled payments, quality metrics, and population health incentives. Stays updated on trends in government and commercial markets.Strategy Design: Develops and applies value-based payment models to maximize funding and cost savings. Collaborates cross-functionally to balance revenue opportunities and risk.Contracting: Leads negotiations for value-based agreements at national and local levels. Prepares contract materials and works with legal to finalize contract terms.Portfolio Management: Maintains a database of VBP programs, tracking key contract details and performance metrics. Identifies growth opportunities and collaborates with providers in CINs and ACOs.Financial Oversight: Tracks and forecasts financial performance of value-based programs, including savings and incentive payouts. Collaborates on budgeting and secures program performance data.CMS & State VBP Monitoring: Keeps up with CMS and state VBP regulations, ensuring compliance with program changes. Works to align strategies for Medicare, Medicaid, and other state-based programs.#le@der
RequirementsEducation:
Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.Additional PreferencesNo additional preferences.
