The Role:
Provides a single-point contact between the Global Functional Leaders (GFL) to the Program VSE Managers. Strategic VSE Leader will be responsible for chairing/managing SMT meetings both Global and Regional and to ensure process consistency, technical correctness, robust and effective communication, and strategic prioritization in the SMT. Works collaboratively with a diverse, global team of engineers and designers with input from technical resources and outside teams such as the studio, manufacturing, compartment integration, planning, validation, specifications, suppliers, and purchasing. Provides key technical leadership to execute high-quality designs, overcome unique challenges and enable program goals. Provide managerial leadership to ensure the big 4 deliverables are on-time, within budget and with quality. Drive Winning with Simplicity and Engineering with Simplicity mentality. Coach and Develop methods to define the strategies for Winning With Simplicity and Engineering with Simplicity. Achieve Engineering with Simplicity goals, documentation of progress, and successes, share stories in all communication channels. Build relationships with EWS activities in Electrical, Software and Propulsion. Defend or challenge the team on pushing the organization forward improving process’s new and existing. Promote proven/common solutions but take calculated risks to enable the program vision. Be a great communicator and team-leader. Perceive and analyze risk and work to mitigate risk early-on. Be forward thinking and plan several steps into the future. Prioritize and work multiple challenges concurrently. Break-down roadblocks and challenge others when appropriate. Deal effectively with change and ambiguity.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Single-point contact for the GFL to Program and Program VSE’s
Understand and communicate GFL priorities and convert them into actionable direction and methods for Lead VSEs and Program VSEs. Single-point coordinator and leader for region-to-region difference resolution.
Be the process guardian for SMT report content and protocol.
Collaborate across SMTs with other Strategic VSE Leaders. Align priorities and compare/commonize processes when efficiencies dictate.
Lead Engineering with Simplicity project organization for assigned SMT and coordinate across SMTs and with other affected teams. Coordinate with Process Leaders, ETLs, and EGMs/DREs to comply with escalation and documentation requirements.
Assist Lead VSEs in planning and implementing vehicle launch support strategies and activities.
Formulate and propose process improvements that aid Lead and Program VSEs in resource allocation.
Work independently to drive projects and analytical tasks to conclusion.
Develop strong cross functional relationships with Creative Design, Manufacturing, Program Teams and others.
Ensure Program Compliance to Winning With Simplicity Rules and executed Engineering With Simplicity to meet Program Targets
Communicates effectively and appropriately to SMT, Program, Engineering, Design and others.
Coaches, trains, mentors and leads strategically within the team to obtain high-quality results.
Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products.
Travel as required.

7+ years of Engineering Experiences
DFSS Certification
Strong knowledge base of VSE role, and preferred previous experience
Cross-functional vehicle development and Design Release experience
Recognized as the expert in functional area of engineering and associated technical tools and processes
Thorough understanding and skills to work at high level in all phases of the VDP.
High level of analytical/problem solving skills where problems are unusual or extremely difficult
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate and elicit work output.
Ability to manage multiple projects with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity to enable timely decision
