Job Description: \n

Responsibilities\n

The VMA will Develop methods to detect and prevent intrusive activities utilizing knowledge. Assist NOSC Cybersecurity to develop countermeasures to isolate, contain and prevent intrusive actives and secure AFCENT\/USCENTCOM networks (to include IDS\/IPS signature development and correlation rule sets). The VMA's full time duty location will be onsite at Shaw AFB, SC but travel may be required to countries within the CENTCOM Area of Operations.\n

Job duties: \n\nMonitor network traffic to determine system vulnerabilities and required fixes; apply established network security procedures, logs and makes recommendation for correcting network security incidents; and coordinate the escalation of security issues requiring detailed analysis to Security Analyst.\nConduct network security monitoring Enterprise-wide vulnerability scanning IAW DOD policy .\nResearch for interpretation and verification of scan operations. \nPerform Patching of authorized DOD network vulnerability scanning tools and infrastructure, to include but not limited to, Red Hat Linux \/ Nessus scanner application \/ Tenable Security Center application.\nProvide reports and metrics during contingency operations and in support of named network defense\/cybersecurity operations and exercises.\n Assist in completion of network defense\/cybersecurity statistical and trend data and operational event reporting when requested.\nCoordinate and track Information Assurance Vulnerabilities Alerts (IAVA). Review and report AFCENT compliance to USCENTCOM and develop Plans, Objectives, Actions and Milestones (POA&M) if unable to complete task.\nTrack AFCENT vulnerability and patch compliance and provide trending analysis. \n\n

Qualifications\n\nSenior-level and higher- B.S. in related field AND 5 or more years relevant experience; OR 7 or more years relevant experience AND Firewall and ACAS experience. \nMid-level or lower- Associates in related field and 3 or more years' relevant experience; OR 5 or more years of relevant experience AND Firewall and ACAS experience.\nNetwork+ or CCNA, Firewall, ACAS and ITIL Foundations required. \nActive Secret Clearance required.\n\n
