Vx - Medical Head (RSV) - Beijing/Shanghai
**JOB PURPOSE:** The Medical Head- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) leads the development and execution of the medical and scientific strategy for the RSV franchise portfolio in the Greater China region. This role will provide medical and scientific guidance for the entire product portfolio, disease landscape, and vaccine ecosystem. The Medical Head-RSV will drive the medical efforts related to disease awareness, scientific communication, and strategic direction, in close collaboration with Global and local counterparts. **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:** **Strategy** + Develop and guide the implementation of franchise-specific & above-brand medical strategies for strategic imperatives, in the fields relevant to RSV. **Internal Collaboration/Communication** + Lead to the development of Greater China Medical Plans (GCMP) in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and teams. + Represent RSV Medical on cross-functional committees. + Act as Greater China representative in Integrated Evidence Generation Planning (iEGP) process for RSV. + Represent RSV Medical in the assessment of external partnerships or collaboration that fall within the portfolio. **External Stakeholder Engagement** + Guide and drive the identification, establishment and maintaining of strategic relationships with senior experts, key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, immunization advisory bodies, patient advocacy groups, decision makers and other external stakeholders; acting as medical expert and fostering scientific engagement to strengthen their understanding of our products and to collaborate on high-priority studies and scientific initiatives. + Lead the Medical Congress planning and engagement for portfolio in collaboration with global and local counterparts, including the identification of new external events/engagement opportunities for implementation of franchise or above brand strategies. + Guide the conception and implementation of external advisory boards organized to support the medical strategic objectives and/or medical plan. + Represent the company at scientific conferences, congresses, and other industry events, and foster partnerships with external organizations to advance scientific knowledge and drive innovation. **Data Generation** + Guide/drive the design and execution of data generation for franchise products, in accordance with Global and Greater China medical strategies. **Medical expertise and scientific support to cross functions** + Stay current on scientific and clinical developments in relevant therapeutic areas to effectively communicate the latest scientific knowledge. + Lead and guide the collaboration with Global counterparts, Greater China Office/Field Medical team, and local Franchise/other cross-functional stakeholders, to drive business ambition. **JOB-HOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:** **Needed experience, qualifications and competencies** + **Length and width of previous experience** + At least 5 years industry/business experience in China with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant area for this function (e.g. Medical Affairs or Clinical R&D, academic or hospitals) + Experience and advocacy within a vaccines field is a plus + **Professional qualifications** + Board-certified physician with experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry. + Academic background with a medical degree and higher medical qualification essential + Experienced in clinical medicine + **Functional/technical competencies** + Fluent in English + Good knowledge of study execution, benefit risk management and regulatory affairs + Excellent medical science knowledge of in general including main competitors + Good knowledge of all compounds with in depth knowledge of at least one compound + Highly innovative with the ability to drive a complex and changing environment and effectively manage and resolve issues within the TA/field + In-depth knowledge of study methodology, study design, data review and analysis + Excellent knowledge of study publication processes and publications + Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical business + **Behavioral competencies** + Excellent organizational skills, ability to work in teams + Strong in communication, negotiating & presentation skills + Ability to interact successfully with all levels of stakeholders + **Leadership competencies** + Ability to build effective partnerships between internal stakeholders **Pursue** **_progress_** **, discover** **_extraordinary_** Better is out there.
