About the Role & Program
WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC–owned television station in New York, is the most-watched television station in the New York Television market and the United States! WABC also leads the market in station websites and has the highest social media engagement!
What You Will Do
You will work directly with our Executive Producer and Senior Producer. You will be immersed in all aspects of production: assisting on field shoots, transcribing, and logging taped interviews, researching/fact-checking, and capturing post-production elements such as graphics and music. You will also get the opportunity to work with our Promotions, News, and Art Departments. You will learn the process of how we get our programs on the air. You will also learn about FCC regulations, music rights, and licensing.
At the end of this internship, you will have a good idea of where your area of interest truly lies and will learn the skills vital to make it in the television business.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Proven skills using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Familiar with basic video productionDesire to be part of a fast-paced agile organizationAttention to detail, exacting standards, and outstanding organizational skillsA hunger to learn and observe. You are a dedicated team player who is also confident working independently.Strong curiosity about the Television industryPreferred Qualifications
Experience or familiarity with Adobe Premiere ProEligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.00 per hour.
