As DB’s Waitemata Site Safety Manager, you will champion safety leadership, inspiring a culture where safety is at the heart of everything we do. You'll lead the implementation of our Health & Safety (H&S) management system, drive risk reduction initiatives, and ensure compliance with New Zealand regulations and DB standards. By partnering with leaders, operational teams, and frontline workers, you’ll foster meaningful engagement in H&S matters, spearhead incident investigations, and facilitate key safety committees. Key Accountabilities:
Lead implementation of the H&S management system on site while coaching and role modelling safety leadership to the Brewery/Logistics managers. Lead site-wide Health & Safety (H&S) risk management, ensuring compliance with NZ regulations and DB standards. Support incident investigations and maintain the event reporting system (Cority). Facilitate site H&S committees, Safety Pillar groups, and local implementation of the National H&S Strategy. Act as a key member of the CSL&P, Brewery Leadership Teams, and Steerco groups, ensuring effective H&S engagement at all levels.
What you will bring with you:
Minimum 3 years of Health & Safety (H&S) experience with a formal OSH qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent) – essential. Strong knowledge of safety legislation, Hazardous Substances regulations, and familiarity with ISO standards (14001, 9001, and 45001) – preferred. Understanding of machine safety standards and experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – advantageous. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships. Demonstrated capability to manage and implement multiple projects – preferred.
