GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Warehouse Assistant Supervisoris a critical member of our team at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp, Newcastle, WY! This position is responsible for the ordering, receiving, tracking, and distribution of all supplies and commissary items needed for the operations of Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp, while supervising a team of inmate workers. This position primarily works outside the secured perimeter.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
+ Manages warehouse and/or clothing distribution to include ordering, stocking, storage, distribution, and inventory control.
+ Must be able to operate a forklift and a manual pallet jack. Training will be provided if necessary.
+ May supervise up to four (4) inmate workers in the operation of daily warehouse and/or clothing distribution tasks.
+ Assists in procurement activities.
+ Applies established procedures and regulations in maintaining work unit and documentation.
+ Researches and corrects discrepancies in inventory documents, requisitions, purchase orders, etc.
+ Follows up on purchase orders by monitoring missed delivery dates and late shipments.
+ Resolves problems on sales orders, purchase orders, and vendor confirmations.
+ Performs detailed product research to ensure the best fit for the requirements of the commissary.
+ Monitors frequency of purchases and recommends possible options to increase the effectiveness of the warehouse.
+ Recommends cost-effective, alternative pricing for products for the warehouse.
+ Maintains business relationships to foster a positive customer service experience.
+ Maintains acceptable inventory levels keeping out-of-stock and overstock products to a minimum and establishes timetables for deliveries.
+ May compute federal and state tax calculations and product markups.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those with prior correctional warehouse management experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and purchasing system software.
+ Knowledge of product lines and merchandise pricing techniques.
+ Knowledge of bid, quote, and award procedures.
+ Knowledge of methods and principles used in modern warehouse procedures, including computerized inventory systems, record-keeping procedures, and safety hazards.
+ Knowledge of Correctional policy and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk II
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Purchasing or Inventory) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk II
