Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. Responsible for all warehouse transactions, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the branch warehouse environment and equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking for shipments.
· Load and unload products from trucks or containers.
· Break down, separate, and receive incoming shipments.
· Move products to storage areas using proper equipment and expertly stack and store raw materials.
· Inventory Control - determining what is available and not, cycle counting, regular inventory counts, investigating deltas, etc.
· Product preparation, separating products, marking products with identifying information.
· Receiving (both the movement of materials but also accurately checking what was received against what was expected),
· Put away (tracking lots and expiry) and manage efficient storage.
· Working cross departmentally with production, sanitation, maintenance, etc.
· Picking - which in this case is the requisition process, determining production needs and staging needed materials for production as they need them.
Required Qualifications:
· Able to work a flexible schedule, covering varied shifts including weekend work.
· Good attendance and punctuality
· Overtime work is sometimes required.
· Ability to set priorities and problem-solve, while working under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds and physically perform requirements of the position.
· Demonstrate ability to be a self-starter who will be responsible for common routines.
· Ability to read, count, follow basic instructions, and apply basic math skills.
· Able to work as part of a team and individually to accomplish the work.
· Effective communication and customer service skills.
· Mobility is necessary to work at all levels of the building.
· Frequently required to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
· Regularly required to stand 100% of working shift if required by job responsibilities.
· Able to always control moving equipment.
· Ability to work in a cold storage warehouse environment with -15 degrees to 55 degrees temperature for extended periods of time is required.
· Knowledge of GMPs
· Basic math skills, able to problem solve and use a calculator to make easy calculations of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
· Ability to think on your feet and quick to adapt
· Teamwork oriented mindset
· Ability to read and understand basic English at 75% capacity.
· Ability to write and speak basic English at 25%
· Minimum of 1 year experience using ERP systems
· Minimum of 1 year experience using forklifts, and electric pallet jacks with an emphasis in a cold/wet working environment or equivalent of a minimum of 2 year experience using forklifts, and electric pallet jacks with an emphasis in a dry working environment or warehouse
· Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or food production environment; food production is preferred.
· Minimum 1 year of experience completing inventory counts, admin tasks or data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience using ERP systems
· 3+ years of experience using forklifts, and electric pallet jacks with an emphasis in a cold/wet working environment or equivalent of a minimum of 2 year experience using forklifts, and electric pallet jacks with an emphasis in a dry working environment or warehouse
· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or food production environment; food production is preferred.
· 3+ years of experience completing inventory counts, admin tasks or data entry.
· OSHA Experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Experience working in a time-sensitive environment, with a good demeanor.
Pay range
$17 $17.50 $18.25
