Overview Starting Wage: $27.00/hr Shift: 1st Shift (Friday - Sunday) Great things are happening at the Sister Schubert’s Horse Cave Campus and as we continue to grow the T. Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world class operational excellence. The position of Warehouse Shipping Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up. Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility. If required for assigned tasks, successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards. As required, performs daily inspection of any applicable power equipment with proper documentation. As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving. Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified and participates in problem solving. Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI). Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary. Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. Recalls on ingredients. Responsible for setting up customer and LTL carrier appointments for finished goods. Arrange pick up service for goods shipped via courier and/or overnight carriers. Reviews open orders daily with Warehouse Manager to set up appointment schedules and stage product for shipment. Responsible for keying in outbound orders to produce bills of lading. Enters shipping information into computer system. Updates and maintains carrier information, courier services, overnight and UPS and bills of lading. Must ensure accuracy of finished good shipments which include case counts, code dates, item numbers, etc. Assumes receiving clerk duties in his/her absence: Match packing slips with purchase orders and complete necessary information. Tag all incoming ingredient with raw material number, purchase order number and date skid. Coordinate receiving personnel to unload, and store accepted items. Resolve discrepancies between purchasing and accounts payable. Help maintain correct inventories (cycle counts). Responsible for label inventories. Receiving, shipping & distribution of UPS, Federal Express, etc. and maintain carrier information. Maintain purchase orders and resolve associated problems. Receiving for all departments (purchase orders for plant). Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures. Performs tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Management. Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records. Qualifications 2 years warehouse administrative experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably food-related industry. Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse and material handling operations, methods and practices. Demonstrated ability to appropriately work with confidential information and situations and manage correspondence. Strong organizational abilities, capable of multi-tasking. Working knowledge of computer warehouse systems in manufacturing. Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Working Conditions/Environment Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
