Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for operating and driving electric powered industrial truck equipment. Additional activities include, but are not limited to, pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, processing shipments, locating inbound materials, cycle counting, and staging finished product by utilizing common tools and handling techniques such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks while utilizing standard picking and staging methods.
Responsibilities Operates and drives gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel-hook, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factoryDelivers material to production areas in a timely manner to ensure that production standards are maintainedLocates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production ordersVerify “bill of lading” on product tagsLoads materials, installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage while in transitSafely moves, loads, and unloads product to and from pallet racksDelivers product to the correct storage bays or bins, following inventory control instructionsReads orders and/or follows oral instructions to meet scheduled activities as directedReceive materials and verify against packing lists to ensure the accuracy of the deliveryAssist in physical inventoriesMaintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs, completes daily forklift maintenance/check sheetPositions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, and transports load to designated areaPuts away palletized units by raising forks for placement into four or five high racksPicks palletized units out of four or five high rack locations and stages for outbound shipmentFollows CBPS safety practices and procedures and contributes to a positive CBPS safety culture

Handle hazardous materialsTrash consolidation and removalUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesConveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areasFills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes accordinglyPosts weights and shipping charges and affixes postageMarks materials with identifying informationMaintain scanner quality (i.e. cleaning lens, reporting mechanical failures)Maintain required levels of quality and rates of Log in/out boxes for scanningRecord objective and bibliographic information as appears on documentsQualifications High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 1 year of forklift experienceExperienced operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.Previous experience with material handling is requiredMust know how to properly operate a forkliftWorking knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and cartsMust successfully pass all CBPS Safety Training and equipment handling proceduresBasic computer skills
Physical Demands
Must be capable of standing and/or walking for extended periods.Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, crouch, squat and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis.May lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Mental qualifications include the ability to safely operate power tool equipment including a forklift, and to follow all CBPS and regulatory processes.Must wear personal protective equipment as required for the job.Must know how to properly handle hazardous materials. Maintains safe, clean and orderly work environment at all times.Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards.
