SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Day Shift – Monday through Friday

Provide leadership, guidance, and follow-through in support of the Warehouse functions.  The focus of the job is to use lean techniques to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost of the shift with the resources available. The Supply Chain Manager fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receives instructions from department Supervisor/Manager during daily Tier 2 Meeting Distributes work assignments to employees as needed. Performs necessary internal/external work for traffic coordination. Verifies the paperwork with the incoming or outgoing physical product. Assists with loading and unloading of trucks when needed. Reports issues to the Manager. Perform safety inspections of departments and equipment. Maintains safety programs and good housekeeping of all designated areas. Oversees general housekeeping and 5S of warehouse and dock areas. Owns and coordinates the warehouse Cycle Count Program. Assists with developing new STD work/ JSA/ SOP for warehouse Leads the team in the 4D process to resolve issues Ensures all vacations are covered and maintains vacation calendar Serves as backup to the Shipping & Receiving Clerk and Material Handler. Respond to safety incidents (completion of incident report forms, training, driving employees to the clinic or ER, or calling an ambulance) Must be able to work overtime as needed. It is crucial that this person be a team player. Confidentiality with materials is critical in this position. All staff has responsibility to correct or report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Supervisory responsibilities: No direct reports, however, provide guidance, counsel, training, and support to the department. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and working to resolve problems. Other duties as assigned.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D required. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Warehouse experience – including movement of materials and all aspects of paperwork Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and PowerPoint presentations.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to calculate mean, median, and mode, and apply SPC to the quality processes Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications Must successfully obtain certification in forklift driving within 2 weeks of being awarded the position.

 

Position Eligibility:

Criterions an employee must meet in order to be eligible to apply for this position.

Must have been in their current role for six (6) months. Met or exceeded performance expectations on their last review. Be clear of any written warnings for the last six (6) months. Be clear from probation or suspension for the last six (6) months
