Summary of the Position:

The warehouse lead performs general distribution and dock operations. Acts as a back-up to the shipping supervisor.

Essential (E)Functions Performed35%EOversees outbound operations and/or order pulling and put-away ensuring safety, productivity, etc. and ensures trailers are being loaded and offloaded in a timely manner.20%MAssists when necessary with put-away product, work order pulling, distribution transfers and loading/unloading inbound/outbound.15%EAssists with dock door assignment and ensures proper flow throughout the day.Consolidates inventory and creates space for inbound items that need to be stored.10%EEnsures proper documentation as dictated by procedures along with document control, including training of new loaders and/or pickers. 10%MInvestigates and researches claims on shortages or other order discrepancies. Follows up with the loading team on any logistical issues and assists with determining corrective action. 5%MEnsures that forms and procedures are up-to-date and filled out correctly.5%EEnsures proper LOT rotation and allergen control, including following FEFO (first expired – first out), FIFE (First in-First expired), FIFO (First in-First out) and organic product receiving and handling.Continually

·        Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.   

Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas. Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.

  Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:  Two plus years warehouse experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Food operations experience preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:  Material handling equipment certification

 

Skills and Competencies:

Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and WMS (Warehouse Management System). Problem solving, team building, project execution and ability to multi-task. Able to lift 50 pounds.

 

Job Specific Requirements:

This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.

 

In the event that the warehouse lead is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
