GRADE RANGE:                 Grade 6 + $0.60 Lead Premium

 

Position Summary    

This position is a leadership role that reports to the Supervisor Warehouse Operations and is responsible for the effective operation of the warehouse and loading docks, equipment, and program programs (Safety and HACCP). The successful candidate will be versatile and able to learn everything about the warehouse and dock operations in order to replace leaves and vacations in the following positions:

The successful candidate will be a working Lead Hand that will have to learn how to drive a forklift to assist with the business requirements as needed.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate eagerness to grow within the department and meet requirements for progressive leadership roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

Shipper

 

Prepare and ensure accuracy of shipping documents prior to and after loading orders.Ensure trailers are suitable for loading.Communicate with the shunt truck driver to organize the trailers and docks.Organize loads to meet schedule. Assist the Shipping Foreman with load priorities. Work with TMS, WMS and SAP systems Collaborate with other departments.Be the communication point with carriers.Communicate problems to Shipping Supervisor.

 

Shipping Foreman

 

Manage safe and efficient loading of transport trucks. Be able to utilize WMS to include daily productivity and inventory counts.Ensures productive and motivational climate.Proactively fostering and promoting the safe work habits of employees. Must demonstrate ability to lead a shift, people management and organizational skills during probationary period.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred, relevant experience will also be considered.Must have lift truck driving experience.Must have good computer skills and proficient in MS office suite. Experience in SAP, WMS and TMS will be considered an asset.Must have strong organizational skills.Must demonstrate leadership skills and be willing to progress in a leadership role.Must be highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.Team player with excellent attendance.
