Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Warehouse Manager runs the day-to-day operations in the Global Distribution Center (GDC).  The WH manager goal is to make sure that the logistic flow of both in and outbound of finished products, raw materials and packaging, relabel is running smoothly, taking into account all the safety and quality standards that need to be attained. The warehouse manager participates and initiates new initiatives to improve the safety, quality and productivity of the warehouse.  The Warehouse manager has an active role and participates in the meetings with the unions. Together with the other management team members the WH manager participates in the realization of the master plan. This master plan supports the Supply chain strategy and is built on operational excellence, continuous improvement, right footprint and process and future proof organization.

Yearly activity: 600 kT (in and outbound)  GDC has a capacity of 120.000 pallets: 80.000 in fully automated warehouse 40.000 in conventional warehouse 9 direct reports 100 indirect reports  

 

The Global distribution center is the heart of the logistics operation in chocolate.

 

 

Key responsibilities include

Lead and improve the daily operation in GDC (24/7) Manage resource planning and taking into account productivity target Daily meeting with the operations team with focus on productivity/ quality / safety / people Monthly meeting with the teamleads Weekly capacity meetings Manage and coach a divers team of  8 teamleads and a system engineer. Communicate within the team the strategy and the vision and make sure it is implemented within the teams  Report and manage the team performance. Develops and improves new work procedures to make sure that all goods are managed in a proper way both according to our safety and quality standards.  Make sure the go for zero mentality is respected. Manage the mid and long term working schemes of GDC to make sure that the company goals are reached.  Prepare the budget on operational and headcount cost together with the management team Prioritize quality and safety on the shop floor. Lead by example Manage the internal stakeholders and improve the internal relationship KPI reporting on different areas: safety, quality, productivity and setup the necessary actions plans to further improve  Prepare the monthly staff meeting, participate in the management meeting support the teamleads in absence talks, evaluation talks with their operators involved in projects to improve the productivity of the warehouse set up new tools in the warehouse (for example POKA) Participates in meetings with union and CPBW

 

 

About you

As a Warehouse Manager, you distinguish yourself through your results-oriented mindset, organizational skills, flexibility, and focus on safety and quality; You are able to adapt quickly thanks to your resilience under pressure, which allows you to maintain a strong sense of quality and responsibility at all times; You can communicate clearly at all levels, both within and outside the organization; You have leadership experience and continuously work on strengthening team spirit, enabling everyone to use their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals. Minimum 6 to 10 years experience in Supply Chain management roles (logistics, supply chain) Good insight in the company and logistic processes. Capable to plan/ prioritize and improve where needed. Detailed understanding of SAP ECC & SAP EWM Knowledge of automated Warehouse storage/loading solution(s) will be considered a plus.
