Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for a vital part in the supply chain process to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met. Warehouse managers are also responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and the stock. Qualified candidates must have experience with mobile devices for electronic entry of inventory items, ability to manage in fast paced high volume environment and quickly redirect staff as needed in emergency situations. Candidate will be responsible for the distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies by maintaining the appropriate levels of stock using BELFOR standard guidelines

 

Responsibilities

Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.

Requirements

Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

Ability to work well with others, maintain professional interaction with co-workers and vendors. Excellent oral and written communication skills An understanding of finance Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse People management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas Planning and organizing skills Must be analytical, and take initiative as necessary Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Physical Demands

Frequent lifting over 50 lbs unassisted Sitting for extended periods of time Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.
