Job Overview: 

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the shipping/receiving activities of the Woodstock Farms manufacturing warehouse. Responsible for enforcing productivity and quality rates, and any other related issues to ensure that the daily workload is completed efficiently and accurately. Responsible for keeping the shift staffed and disciplined at a level where the work will be completed in an efficient manner. Ensure WSF Warehouse operations are in accordance with established procedures and policies.

Job Responsibilities: 

Assumes responsibility for the measurement and effectiveness of all WSF warehouse processes. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the warehouse as required (quality assurance reports/posting, incentives, etc). Tracks and resolves problems involving damaged goods, incorrect orders, and missing goods. Assists in developing policies and procedures for Warehouse operations including SOPs. Makes recommendations for equipment purchases and capital improvements. Ensures that Warehouse materials are rotated and stored properly. Oversee accurate and cost-effective freight inbound and outbound. Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of Warehouse facilities. Ensures that both the inside and outside of the facilities are clean and orderly. Works to develop and maintain productive business relations with internal customers, vendors, suppliers, and shippers. Provides leadership to assigned personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Conducts regular meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures. Continually enforces productivity standards. Discusses areas needing improvement. Assigns and coordinates personnel, scheduling to ensure workload is done efficiently. Keeps shift properly staffed keeping in mind vacation requests, leaves, etc. Works with local IT group to maintain acceptable technological standards. Drive high level of associate engagement.  Administer discipline and participate in Union Meetings as needed. Perform duties in accordance with OSHA, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location Work closely with production management to insure the highest level of customer service

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Additional related facility management training preferred.

Experience:

Five or more years of related experience, with at least two or more years of supervisory experience

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

Must have strong knowledge of all warehouse procedures and WMS functions. Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts, and shipping requirements. Excellent leadership abilities. Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities. Strong problem solving skills. Strong communication skills and ability to motivate. Ability to work in a team environment. Must be flexible. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to understand Accounting, HR and Payroll activities/practices.

This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center, office, or manufacturing room.

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.   Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties. Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.   Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.   Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work-related equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
