Warehouse Operator

The Warehouse Operator will report directly to a shift leader and will be required to maintain the warehouse schedule safely and to the required

quality standards.

Accountable for setting up, operating, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting warehouse equipment and processes.

Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods.

Monitoring the quality of output to identify damaged/faulty products.

Maintaining accurate daily records.

You will ensure that we have the necessary equipment to allow the warehouse to run to schedule and you will be responsible

for the reporting of operational or maintenance issues to your shift leader.

Good communication skills and flexibility as at times production runs 24/7.

The role would suit a healthy and energetic person who has the desire and capability to deliver and improve the department’s

contribution to the success of the wider business.

Responsibilities

Work independently, with minimum supervision.Load trucks, sort and match outbound inventory.Verifies items and quantities against orders.Maintain a keen attention to detail, remaining alert to all process variables.Work to the warehouse plan (and any agreed deviations).Inspect and maintain equipment and troubleshoot associated problems when required.Complete stock counts, daily cycle counts and periodic full stock countsDevelop the ability to resolve issues and non-conformances arising from the processes.Liaise with your Shift Leader on departmental performance.Apply a flexible approach to ensure all work processes and phases are completed and not left unattended. This may require flexibility around breaks and could, in some instances, require overtime at short notice.

Essential skills

Good dexterity and eyesight and keen attention to detail.Ability to lift 20kg easily.Able to work on own initiative.FLT licence and previous experience essential.Comfortable in a shop floor environment.Fluent English communication skills - both verbal and written.

Desirable skills

GCSE English and Maths.
