What you will be doing

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, and promoting a safe work environment. 

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all warehouse operations as a hands-on leader, serving and motivating warehouse employees. Duties include supervision, training, inventory control, and safety enforcement. If you’re passionate about optimizing warehouse efficiency, we’d love to have you on our team!

The position will be based in Auburn, WA.

Main responsibilities

Plan warehouse work operations in accordance with shipments, received, store orders, perish-ability, and stock rotation requirements.  Schedule and assign warehouse crew and equipment to meet schedules to handle daily volume efficiently.  Supervise warehouse crews in a unionized environment.  Supervise truck loading, order selecting and receiving.  Ability to coach, train and lead work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialization in receiving, processing, storage, order assembly or loading.  Ensure adherence to Safeway policies, procedures and practices.  Take inventories as required. Report and clear indications of "out of stock" or "overstocked" conditions developing.  Administrative duties as related to warehouse functions.  Design, monitor, and maintain a safe working environment through compliance of safety programs.  Supervise minor maintenance and sanitation as needed.  Involved in and recommend hiring, promotions, terminations, performance appraisals and labor standards.  Maintain a high level of customer service for retail and public customers.  Cultivate a positive and innovative work environment.  Strive for fast continuous systematic planned improvement. 

The salary range is $62,727.00 to $78,434.50 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).  [If applicable:] Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.

What we are searching for 

Strong interpersonal, communication & team building skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills Proven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accounting for the same Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback Able to supervise a medium size group of warehouse employees in a unionized environment Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint Understanding of warehouse regulations regarding quality and safety Willingness to work evenings, night shifts, weekends and holidays Ability to coach, train, and lead work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialization in receiving, processing, storage order assembly or loading. 

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

3-5 years of experience in warehousing 2-4 years previous supervisory experience in warehousing preferred 4-year college degree in logistics, business or related field preferred
