Warehouse/Relief Truck Jockey

Summary/Objective  

The Warehouse/Relief Truck Jockey will assist in the movement of internal freight and supplies, jockey trailers as needed, and general facility upkeep.  This position will also serve as a fill-in for other warehouse and truck jockey positions as needed.

 

Responsibilities

Operate a sit-down gas-powered forklift, lawn mowers, snowplow truck, cider spreader, leaf grinders, lawn sprayers, jockey truck, and other equipment as required.Use power tools to complete various tasks.Accurately verify inbound freight receipts.Keep complex neat and clean. Perform miscellaneous tasks and assist others as needed. Responsible for food safety as well as end product quality as presented during GMP training, HACCP training, SQF training, FSMA training and Chemical/Sanitation training.Be alert to suspicious activities as per the 1st ALERT training video.

 

Essential Functions

Talk, hear, read, write, and comprehend English.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work flexible hours / days to support business hours and needs.Ability to multitask, problem solve, accomplish tasks in allotted time and effectively work with others.Valid Driver’s License, (no CDL required) drive jockey truck and back up trailers in tight spaces.Work outside in all weather conditions.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to grasp, push, reach, or stoop/kneel/crouch.Frequently required to stand and walk.Lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs. and/or drag up to 200lbs.Must be able to tolerate outside temperatures.Work indoors/outdoors for all seasons.Must be able to walk up a flight of stairs.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; mainly 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM including a Saturday rotation and occasional weekends and holidays based on business demands.

Preferred Education and Experience

No specific experience/education required; GED preferred Ability to work safely around power equipment and at elevated heights. Ability to pass certification on forklift and driving test.
