Warehouse Specialist, Lead (Ammunition Residue Yard)

The Warehouse Specialist Lead is assigned to the Ammunition Residue Yard (ARY) and is responsible for the supervision, training, welfare and safety of assigned personnel. Responsible for the full execution of all tasks associated with the assigned area, i.e. inventories, turn-ins, shipment prep, demil, receipts, daily maintenance of assigned government equipment and yard outside (vegetation control).

Responsibilities

Loads, unloads, stacks, and stores residue.

Reviews unit paperwork for accuracy and for compliance with existing regulations.

May conduct an informal safety inspection of vehicles entering the Residue Yard. May escort unit personnel into the Residue Yard, identifies the correct ammunition residue by type and lot, and receives and organizes for shipment.

Assists units with loading and securing the load, and may do so by use of a forklift, dolly, or other item of equipment.

Maintains accountability of all residual items turned in and makes appropriate entries on the unit turn-in paperwork. May inspect loaded vehicles for proper blocking and bracing.

Assists with the receipt of commercial vehicles transporting ammunition residue to the Residue Yard or out for shipment by unloading/ loading, segregating, and palletizing.

Assists with residue counts and weights, and the thorough screening of turn-in items. Assists with the preparation of outbound shipments of ammunition residue.

May assist in the packing, unpacking, inspection, re-warehousing process to include marking residue destined for landfill.

Must have a familiarity with procedures relating to both automated and non-automated customer units.

This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Military Occupational Specialties 55B/89B or 5 years of relevant work experience in ammo storage operations.

2+ years of supervision/leadership experience.

Knowledge of Army logistical functions.

Must be able to obtain forklift license.

Microsoft Office Skills.

Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.

Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Hourly Pay Rate: $20.06
