Warehouse Specialist
**Purpose and Scope:** The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Note: Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator). **Essential Responsibilities:** **1.** Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. **2.** Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. **3.** May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. **4.** Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods. **5.** May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Six to twelve months job related experience and/or training is required. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Ability to perform work in a safe manner to prevent loss or damage of equipment. Customer-oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** • Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications. • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. • Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. • Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. • Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds. • May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty. • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. • Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants. • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions. **Other Responsibilities:** Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
