Warehouse Specialist

RiverTech is pleased to announce it is looking to hire a Warehouse Specialist in Alexandria, VA to join our JSP ILS program. The selected candidate will perform IT asset reception, inspection, inventory and processing upon vendor delivery at the DISA warehouse, utilize material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g. forklifts, tractors), conduct preventive maintenance program and computer warehouse net storage space. Additionally, the warehouse specialist coordinates and expedites flow of IT material, parts, and assemblies within the warehouse and DoD in accordance with distribution schedules, warehouse manager and supervisors' priorities. In this job, the Warehouse Specialist establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges for transfer of materials per coordinated customer schedules.

Responsibilities

Maintain computer-based warehouse applications and mainframe locator systems.

Maintain records of sub custody principal end items, conduct inventories, monitor shelf-life items, input data entry transactions, and retrieval of historical records.

Maintain hand-held optical character recognition scanners, devices, and multimedia retrieval systems.

Supervise the following procedures: location survey, location addition, location consolidation, embarkation, warehouse security, and care in storage

Supervise the following operations: stage material, inventory, receiving, shipping, warehouse safety program, and storage.

Review and update materials and equipment delivery and receipt processes and prepare Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR).

Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) warehouse operations within Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS)

Collaborate with the JSP Contracts Office to validate, verify and adjudicate in-bound materials, partial shipments and associated tracking of critical, accountable and consumable IT assets for use within the JSP environment.

Qualifications

Must be US Citizen.

Must have and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Two years recent experience with Remedy BMC 9.1 for the management of IT Supply Chain and distribution work-orders.

High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Must possess license to operate MHE, operate bulk and small parts conveyer systems used in warehousing operations, and have a current 6k forklift licenseActive DOD Secret Clearance

Proven ability to communicate and coordinate with DoD customers at all levels via email and or telephone effectively and succinctly.

Must have three (3) years of administrative experience required to include at least two years’ operating personal computers.

Must have knowledge of all Microsoft Office products required.

Must receive a favorable background check and maintain drug-free testing results.

Be able to attain forklift certification within 30 days of hire.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

Computer, copier and software programs.

Manual and automated pallet hand truck/Jack 5k Forklift

Handheld InterMed scanner

DPAS software within Desktop and or Laptop

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Participate in random and annual drug and alcohol testing

Work is generally conducted in a warehouse environment.

Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to excessive heat during summer months.

Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and abide with COVID19 protocols.

PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Steel Toes are required.

Must comply with Akima, OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules

Reports to the Warehouse Manager and functions somewhat independently.
