HOW A WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Maintaining good communication with the teamAbility to work well in a team environmentCustomer warehouse unit is a large, dynamic supply chain warehouse operation that processes Customer’s unclassified and classified worldwide cargo shipments; the unit consists of multiple branches responsible for international shipping, domestic trucking, dock operations, customer service, property reutilization, storage management, production inventory team, pouch services, mail and courier services, and administrationThe warehouse unit maintains in-house resources to manage controlled storage, perform custom packing and crating, process excess property media sanitization and destruction, and complete local and long-distance office moves on behalf of Customer requirementsDaily, warehouse personnel interact with Customer component personnel worldwide via secure email and instant messaging; personnel on the receiving dock also interact with commercial delivery personnel and other government agenciesWarehouse Generalists perform a wide range of logistics related tasks dependent upon the site of assignment. Work includes processing cargo shipments in categories such as general cargo, vehicles, and boats, via sea freight, air freight, and truck transportation, and performing functions related to warehouse receiving and distribution, local WMA cargo pick-up and delivery services, office moving, packaging, crating and related duties assigned by CustomerThe work entails performing manual labor-oriented tasks, including operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts to reposition cargo within the warehouse; using various types of packaging materials and power tools to construct wooden crates; loading and unloading cargo from trucks, trailers, vans, and other commercial type vehicles, and learning to operate and safely use all dock and lift gate equipmentThe work requires effective written and verbal skills to communicate with Customers and vendorsCore hours are typically from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Duties require that personnel are available to work before or after core hours, as required to fulfill Customer requirementsWarehouse Generalists work may require travel to and work from Customer facilities within the local areaPersonnel must be willing to commute to other Customer facilities within the WMA when required to work a full day at that location. The work may include occasional opportunities to TDY to locations with CONUSSenior level Warehouse Generalist will be expected to conduct sight surveys, create and submit Customer moving estimates and manage overall move teams as required by Customer managementWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: HS DiplomaRequired Experience: 5 years of experience performing warehouseman-type work in a warehouse environmentRequired Technical Skills: Must have current HAZMAT certification in at least one mode of shipment, and if required, successfully complete Customer specific HAZMAT training to be provided by the CustomerSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/PolyRequired Skills and Abilities: Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 70 lbs.), demonstrated experience operating various material handling equipment in accordance with safety requirements and procedures and demonstrated experience safely moving material of various sizes and weights throughout a warehouse as well as onto and off trucksLocation: Springfield, VirginiaUS Citizenship Required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $27.20 - $36.80. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
