Warehouse Specialist Supervisor

Overview:

Performs duties of warehousing and distribution operations and supply management requirements IAW terms and conditions of the contract supporting DLA Distribution Jacksonville, FL. Supervises a workforce using various Government and Commercial applications, and an Automated Warehouse Management System.Supervises employees performing services in both inside and outside areas including on open docks. Warehouse Specialist Supervisor will ensure employees are cross-trained to move between the functional areas. Warehouse Specialist Supervisor takes direction from the Site Manager and completes contract services at DLA Distribution Jacksonville, FL and off-site locations when required. Supervises employees working various rotating shifts, various adjusted hours, overtime, and weekends commensurate with workload requirements to support the customer.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversees storage and distribution operations. Directs employees engaged in receiving, storing, issue, shipment and distribution of a variety of bin and bulk materials, equipment, and commodities using automated and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on weekly or monthly bases. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences in agreement with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by Site Manager. Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work. Ensures work is done properly and efficiently in agreement with the terms and condition of the contract. Uses Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS, i.e., resolving common error conditions, responds to computer output instructions or error conditions, and following SOPs. Must possess a motor vehicle and forklift license. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate lead personnel and meeting contract performance standards. Ensures workforce personnel wear all required personal protection equipment (PPE) (e.g., hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, safety boots/shoes, aprons, masks, face shields, reflective vests, safety harnesses) during the performance of their duties. Ensures area of responsibility is operating in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals as required for day to day operational processing and preparation for any audit event. Responsible for compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, Assertion Memo IAW CDRL A034, to include monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and or corrective action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made. Responsible for the Audit Assertion Program functional areas of Offload/Tally, Receipt Induction, Stow/Warehousing, Re-warehousing and Stock Selection, i.e. Pick/Pack/Prep for Shipment. Education and/or Experience: High School degree required. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation, distribution and warehousing using automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable in DD1348-1A receipt processing, Navy requisitions, inventory practices, supply operations, data entry into personal computers and scanning devices, and possess an understanding of warehouse storage plans. Directs employees engaged in receiving, storing, issue, shipment and distribution of a variety of bin and bulk materials, equipment, and commodities using automated and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. Interface with and support material owners, other Material Distribution Activities, DLA Primary Level Field Activities, and other customers to accomplish the contract requirements. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a motor vehicle and forklift license. Security Clearance:

Position requires U.S. Citizenship, a US Government background check and may require a US Government SECRET Clearance.

If SECRET Clearance Level is required, candidate must also:

Have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation. Be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance if required. Physical Demands: Lifting and moving warehouse items up to 50 pounds without MHE assistance. Travel: Occasional TDY travel may be required. Work Environment: Warehouse enclosed facility
