Warehouse/Stores Specialist
Job Description:35% Responsible for processing and purchasing of orders and maintaining inventory for feed, bedding and supplies for all ACS sections. Enters all supply requests, via ACS purchasing software to Accounting and Director, for approval. Responsible for ordering scrubs and uniforms for husbandry staff. Coordinates transfer of feed, bedding and supplies between ACS facilities with Animal Care Operations Manager II overseeing Warehouse/Stores and Logistics. Coordinates deliveries and problem resolution with ACS vendors. Ensures PCard orders are processed in accordance with university regulations and meets processing deadlines.
20% Responsible for the shipping and receiving of animals ordered by ACS on behalf of UF research Principal Investigators (PI). Receives and matches all new rodent animal arrivals with copy of vendor order form and ACS incoming sheets to verify that expected orders are correct and complete. Ensures that appropriate housing destination is identified and written on each order shipping container. Reports any discrepancy on animal orders to the Animal Care Operations Manager II overseeing Warehouse/Stores and front office personnel. Routes packing lists to finance payables section for billing. Routes health certificates to the appropriate veterinary staff.
35% Maintains the loading dock and supply stores areas. Receives inventories, trouble shoots issues, assists in stocking supplies, and maintains ACS supply stores database. Enters supply issues and receipts in database daily. Conducts weekly physical inventory counts to reconcile ACS supply stores inventory database. Ensures supply stores area is cleaned and sanitized according to established SOPs. Drives ACS vehicles to deliver supplies, animals, and equipment.
10% Serves as back up for the Logistics and Stores assigned manager. Required to keep up to date on SOPs in Policy Manger and input time worked in Time Clock Plus using facility computers during normal working hours. Ensure that leave requests, overtime requests are submitted timely to area manager.
Expected Salary: $19.00/hour Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or higher. AALAS ALAT certification or higher. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills. Must have strong customer services skills, especially with the research investigators and vendors. Need excellent computer skills and ability to work effectively with Microsoft software as well as UF and ACS programs.
Special Instructions to Applicants:This is not a remote work position, and it is located on the University of Florida main campus in Gainesville, FL.
