Warehouse Supervisor

Johnson Service Group is seeking a direct hire Warehouse Supervisor for our distribution client in Northridge, CA.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Employees in this role are expected to operate in alignment with company standards and values:
Manage and coordinate all aspects of daily warehouse activities.
Improve systems and methods related to stock management and workflow optimization.
Monitor product availability to meet distribution channel requirements and fulfill customer demand.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance productivity across departments.
Communicate inventory levels and operational updates to senior leadership.
Address slow-moving inventory and oversee storage logistics.
Evaluate stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary to prevent shortages.
Oversee and validate inventory counts; supervise periodic cycle counts and audits.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and contribute to cost containment strategies.
Train and mentor warehouse team members, supporting succession planning initiatives.
Identify and resolve issues related to overstock or excess shipments.
Ensure proper handling, storing, and movement of goods across the facility.
Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
Project future workload demands and prepare accordingly.
Examine productivity trends and adjust workflows to sustain performance standards.
Lead shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment activities.
Manage inventory slotting and optimization for incoming and aging materials.
Prepare and refine operational and staffing reports for internal use.
Collaborate with IT to enhance reporting capabilities through tools like Power BI.
Coordinate with Facilities on warehouse maintenance and improvement projects.
Partner with HR on workforce safety initiatives and training programs.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members.
Set clear team objectives and align goals with broader organizational strategy.
Uphold company policies and support corrective actions when needed.
Act as a communication bridge between staff and leadership.
Monitor and enhance employee output with regular coaching and feedback.
Maintain workforce records and ensure timekeeping accuracy.
Perform additional supervisory functions as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
1–2 years’ experience in inventory control or related supervisory role.
Knowledge:
Familiar with inventory and warehouse management software (e.g., ERP systems).
Ability to analyze data and forecast inventory needs.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Solid understanding of inventory tracking and report generation.
Strong knowledge of warehousing and logistics best practices.
Skills:
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Organizational and time management proficiency.
Clear and professional communication style.
Inventory control expertise with a focus on accuracy.
Strong forecasting and process improvement capabilities.
Additional Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%), including domestic and international trips.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience in a warehouse leadership role.
APICS CPIM or ASCM SCM certification is a plus.
Exposure to Lean Six Sigma principles and/or certification is beneficial.

Salary $80-85K DOE plus potential bonus
