Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Warehouse Supervisor documents and processes customer orders for shipment. Works with Shippers and Customer Service Representative to ensure timely inbound and outbound deliveries.  Investigates and recommends corrections for all non-conformance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory control – correcting inventory, and monitoring locations for inventory discrepancies. Completing ILINE clearance, monthly raw material counts & cycle counts, ect.Make changes to the freight card management system as needed.Supervise warehouse and drivers.Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.  Manages the daily calendar scheduling all inbound and outbound deliveries/shipments.Monitors the shipping window.  Ensures correct paperwork is provided to the correct driver.  Ensures drivers are in the correct docking doors. Collaborates with the warehouse team to get shipments loaded/unloaded in a timely manner.Matches all shipping BOL’s with corresponding paperwork. Saving all BOL’s from every shipment in plant share by customer name, delivery number, BOL number, and lot numbersManages outgoing shipments.  Prepares paperwork & schedule UPS, LTL, full truck load and international shipments.Arranges outbound shipments and prepares paperwork in Oracle for scrap loads and Silgan Plants- raw material and dunnage.Monitors Customer Orders.  Printing, delivery, planning reports and inventory aging reports for all customers every day.  Corresponds with customer service/warehouse associates ensuring customer demands are being met.Ensures warehouse staff follows FIFO on all products, reserving products, printing pick slips, printing COA’s for when required, having paperwork in the correct order for loading. Makes sure the warehouse team is aware of what and when each delivery needs to be loaded.Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.Contacts carrier representative to decide and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.Delivers or route materials to appropriate departments, using work devices, such as hand-held scanners, hand trucks, or lift trucks.Confers and correspond with Sales, Customer Service, and establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.Assists Customer Service and Sales with inventory questions or concerns, quotes, dimensions.Assists with other duties as assigned.

Receives:

All Monthly Recurrent PO’sAll UPS and FedEx Packages and files copies of all packing slipsAll Raw Materials- resin (bulk, railcars, gaylords), preforms, pallets, & packaging materialsAll LTL shipments.Unreceiving/re-receiving items due to prices changes, incorrect items & month end.

AUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable):

  Lead all shipping protocols and practices in the US and Canada

EDUCATION:    

Required: High School Diploma or the equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 2-3 Years’ Experience in a warehouse shipping department.
