\nThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and shipping department, including transportation requirements. He/she will manage a team of direct reports to coordinate the movement of finished goods through the warehouse, rotating the finished goods inventory, and picking/packing/shipping the finished goods in compliance with company and customer requirements. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, sanitation and cleanliness of the warehouse, docks and all related equipment. He will direct activities to limit costs, improve accuracy, and maintain exceptional customer service.
Champions safety in the warehouse department Supervise lift truck drivers and follow up on safety and productivity. Schedule warehouse employees to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. Assign placement of incoming trucks. Oversee shipment of orders to customers and other plants, making sure that orders are sent out on schedule. Assign shipments to be loaded. Maintain inventory control of finished goods for each building. Maintain warehouse area for finished goods. Keep shipping and warehouse area cleaned and organized. Write up all inbound stock and transfers to other locations. Maintain shipping/warehouse records on computer. Follow-up to ensure forklifts and clamps are repaired when needed. Motivate, counsel, innovate and give directions. Have regular department meetings to update department information, advise of changes in department, and review safety and the outlooks to advance the department for the better. Oversee training and evaluate new employees coming into the department. Cover Split Shifts when other Warehouse Supervisor is on vacation or out. \n High school, some college or 5 years’ experience. Good verbal communication and follow up skills. Must be able to make decisions when deemed necessary. Experience in a manufacturing environment is needed, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
