JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise a team of shipping/receiving associates. Controls production standards, accuracy of shipments and receiving, using proper accuracy programs and systems. Ensures the accuracy and completion of all required receiving and shipping documentation. Coordinates with Inventory Control associates regarding slotting, receiving errors and corrections. Holds daily pre-shift meeting to discuss safety priorities, set clear productivity goals, and ensure everyone is aligned on the day's plan. Communicates with Transportation on the flow and receipt of backhauls. Responsible to sign for, sort and distribute inbound, overnight carrier and mail service deliveries. Walks warehouse daily to ensure that safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes, laws, and policies are maintained. Ensure that equipment and personnel are utilized effectively to meet daily targets. Develops and maintains good working relationship with all departments. Holidays are celebrated with our second and third-shift teams. This supervisor will provide vacation coverage for third-shift supervisors. Responsible for adhering to and enforcing SQF guidelines in the shipment, storage, and receipt of all goods in the distribution center.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in warehouse operations and leadership is essential for this role. Prior supervisory experience, ideally within UNFI, is highly preferred. Proficient supervisory skills and the ability to work with others to achieve desired results. Communicate effectively and efficiently. This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret data and reports to support operational decision-making. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in an active warehouse environment. Essential computer skills are a must. You should be proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and comfortable learning new software to support your daily tasks and decision-making. Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between –20 to 70 degrees. Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
